Mad as a Hornet!
Wow, I would have been pissed too. Not even a message on your answering machine or anything when you got back?
I thought people in the south went housebound when it snowed? lol Or at least gridlocked on the highway. I saw the news this morning and I thought there was some terrible accident on a local highway then I saw the caption that it was Atlanta gridlock caused by a tiny bit of snow. Sorry its hard to get sympathy from those of use living with negative temperatures in the North East.
I wouldn't go to a doctors appt on a snow day without calling first here in Connecticut let alone NC. Consider it a lesson learned.

Steve, I can certainly understand your frustration, waiting so long! I never wait more than 20 minutes for anyone or anything. I just don't think this snafu rises to the level of retribution that others suggested, given that millions of people across the southern states have had their plans disrupted by the weather. Let's all keep some perspective here.
If weather conditions worsened overnight, the staff might not have been able to access patient records/phone numbers and appointment schedules from their homes so they could call you and other patients to explain the office would be closed today. It would have been helpful to have posted an automated phone message to explain the problem though.
Two inches of snow may not seem like a lot to people in snowy areas, but in areas where snow is rare, many cities and drivers are just not able to cope with it and the safety hazards are very high. Atlanta is a good case in point. Not much snow fell, but the road were covered in ice and everything ground to a halt. Some people were trapped in their cars for up to 20 hours. In Houston, they've been canceling all non-essential surgeries due to snow. Which is all a way of saying, things could be much worse....
Stay safe and warm everybody!
I was thinking the same thing. I live in the north, and even then if there's snow I call the day before or before I leave home to see what their policies are.
It sucks, but they might not have had someone take the records home to call for notification purposes.
