How did you feel when you reached your first goal?
When you hit your initial goal, how did it make you feel? Triumphant? Nervous? Relieved?
I'm 30 pounds away, and even though I've slowed down, I'm still heading in the right direction. I know I'll be able to hit 150 - my first goal. But I have a feeling that even after I'm there, I'll want to lose a little more. I mean, 125 sounds like a pretty awesome number, too!
I guess what I'm fearing is that I'll hit 150 and it won't feel as good as I had hoped. When I got under 200, I expected to be exstactic, but really... it just didn't do anything for me. I'm worried I'll feel like, "well, I still have a ways to go. Nothing to celebrate yet."
Did anyone feel like that?

Amazed and proud!
I set up milestones along the way and rewarded myself tangibly for each of them, but as loss is concerned I have two more goals. 10 lbs to go and reaching goal, as I have hit the 20 lbs to go already...and sitting there. :) But one major goal I reached was wearing a size 12, which I did not feel was even possible in the beggining, it was my stretch goal...and here I am in my size 10 fitted skinny Cynthia Rowley jeans and L O V I N G it and I am so proud of my hard work and so amazed that I was able to use this tool to get here. The idea I might slide on some 8s just boggles my mind. BOGGLES MY MIND!
For my 20 lbs to go I had gone to a custom handbag maker late last year and asked them to create my 'ideal' handbag and it arrived in the mail Friday and on Monday I hit the goal. It is all I can do when someone comments on the handbag to not tell them the entire story of how it came to be.
I have celebrated each and every thing--time milestones, weight milestones, size milestones and when I hit my goal, I have a whole set of maintenance milestones for 5 years (incremental, not waiting 5 years) to keep me on the straight and narrow and to celebrate the 'day in/day out' when the numbers dropping isn't there.
And you know what...you are right. You WILL have a ways to go...but CELEBRATE how far you have COME! If you were on a round the world cruise, would you only be excited at the final port of call? Heck no--you'd be snapping photos and doing excursions at EVERY port of call. The journey is something to celebrate!!
