Talked to Dr's Nurse
I'm going Thursday for second Dialation, so I asked the nurse will my Dr do the procedure because last time she did not. I told the nurse about all the pain I'm still having in my stomach area where my incision and it really bothers me alot and has not got any better since surgery and I really need the Dr to see what's wrong, I'm 5 weeks out. The nurse my Doctor will be doing it, she will check if my staples are to tight or if I have a ulcer. Not sure how an ulcer would feel, I just know any amount of sitting, bending over hurts so bad, you know it's bad when you know it will hurt to sit on tolit and get up and I do real slow bwcause it hurts. Why me ! one problem after another.
I'm only a little over a week. My burning is coming from the incision area. Burns like it's on fire. Nurse said it is the scar tissue. It hurts me to raise up from a lying position and to stand up. I hope they get it figured out soon and you begin to feel better. If it is an ulcer, I have read others say the only thing that heals it is keeping it wet. Drink a lot, it might help. God bless you
I am so sorry you are having so much pain and other difficulties.
I did not have staples, however, in the area of my left trocar site (per my surgeon, they did the most work there), I had ongoing pain for almost two months. My surgeon said I hemorrhaged into my abdominal muscle and that caused a pretty big hematoma (essentially a big, deep bruise in my muscle). He said these can be "excruciating" but should resolve as the blood reabsorbs in 6-8 weeks. Additionally, they think they cut a branch of my abdominal nerve, so I had really deep pain that hurt terribly to stand upright, sit down/stand up from the bed/chair/toliet, move around in bed, AND I had surface skin pain from the nerve.
Fortunately, my surgeon prescribed me Vicodin for the duration because Tylenol just didn't cut it at all. It didn't totally take the pain away, but made it much more tolerable. He recommended using a heating pad for 20 minutes at a time to help the blood reabsorb. Please check with your surgeon before using a heating pad as some surgeons don't like them for various reasons.
I have no idea if this is what is going on with you, but it might be worth asking your surgeon about it and for suggestions to relieve the pain. My pain did go away, almost over night, at around 7-8 weeks, yay! I hope you feel better soon!
