Totally worth it

My husband was opening up some mail, and one of the items was the insurance statement of how much my surgery and related care cost and how much they covered.  He misread it and thought that was how much we owed...

When I (laughingly) explained to him that was the amount COVERED not OWED, he didn't miss a beat - just shrugged and said "It would've totally been worth it".  I started to cry.  That very well may have been the most loving thing anyone has ever said to me.

That single comment taught me two things: I can never underestimate the impact of my health on the people I love, and number two, I should never allow him to take over the management of our finances.  I mean, seriously, who shrugs off a $60 K bill?
