B Vitamins
A B-50 is a B complex.
I don't take a B complex because the ASMBS says they are optional and my lab always show my B vitamins, including thiamine (B1), B6 and folate (B9) are good.
What brands have you tried that make you gag?
You were advised to take calcium citrate, iron and B12, too, right?
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
After surgery please check your levels often for potassium and ALL of the B vitamins. I became deficient in all of them and almost died. The B1(Thiamine) and potassium were the biggest ones. I spent almost a month in the hospital and nursing home, I ended up with optic nerve damage and it was pure hell. So please whatever you do, request to have these levels drawn monthly!
