What's on the menu today, RNY-ers?
I mix the protein powder with cold milk or water (1/4-1/2 cup) then add the hot coffee and don't get curdling or clumps that way. I use syntrx vanilla bean or chocolate truffle flavors. The syntax has been the smoothest when mixed either hot or cold. Other kinds I have tried were too clumpy YUCK!
I made the lasagna in an 8x8 glass pan. My portion size was about 1/8 of the recipe although I couldn't finish quite that much. The "sauce" keeps the chicken really moist. Very yummy and my husband and daughter liked it too so that was a bonus. It's kind of white in color which isn't really my thing so maybe next time I'll add some red or green peppers for color. It's very runny when you first take it out of the oven but sets up nicely if you let it rest awhile.
I really enjoy your posts and seeing your progress!
No breakfast because of surgery instructions. I did get a cup of coffee after though. Lunch was what I could find on their hospital menu. Grilled chicken guessed at two ounces. Green beans. Came with grilled potatoes but skipped them. Not sure what dinner will be something simple because still a little groggy from the valium and whatever else they put in the iv. Maybe just a protein shake. Trying to catch up on vitamins since I couldn't take them until I got home at four. Had to stay in hospital for more than four hours after the surgery. Working on fluids now also. The shake will help with that as well.
Happy Monday!
Today was my 6 month post op visit, so I took the day off and did errands. I ended up being caught hungry without any snacks but was able to make some good decision, TY whole foods.
