Poet Kelly or any others..blood work question
Just had my 9 month follow up and all is well (vitamin A is a little low so I am upping that) I have been tired lately but there has been a lot of stress longer work hours and of course the never ending winter. There are a few things that have trends I am curious about. For example my Iron and Ferritin are trending up but transferrin is trending down. I don't understand how to read some trends. Magnesium is trending down but well within normal. Vitamin D is trending up (Yeah) still needs to be higher but finally in the 60's. Protein is trending down but I am not sure what to make of it. I get the recommended 90 grams a day. Here are my blood results over the last 9 months. My PA is not concerned as everything is in the normal range. I didn't get the results ahead like I normally do to ask about downward trends. Thoughts? I don't want my Iron to be a problem. On a side note all my blood work seems to always be done with in a week of my cycle so I don't know if that matters or not.
they are listed as the test, lab normal ranges, then 3, 6, 9 month numbers

The main thing I'd be concerned about is the vitamin A. How much are you taking? What kind?
Well, and the protein. I'd try to up that a bit even though 90 grams is good for many people.

I am taking tender a-25 25,000 Iu 4 days a week now 5. My pa says she's not surprised with me still losing fat and it being fat soluble. I'll up my protien as well. Any thoughts on the iron trends

You can try to take your A with coconut milk. Coconut oil does not need to be broken down - gets absorbed anywhere and it can help with absorption of fat soluble vitamins.
IMO you need more proteins. 90 is not enough for you. You may need to increase it to 100- 120 per day. I had to do that first 3 years.
Also your MCV indicate not enough B12. I would try to get more.
Ferritin looks stable - the ferritn has measurements error so +/- 5 is very standard. If they try to measure it - they may get 90-95-100 from the same day... Copper is getting lower - you may need to look into that.
Your PTH nicely improved... And with that and high calcium level - you protecting your bones. Great job. But also watch for magnesium. We need magnesium for strong bones.

Thanks, I will up my protien and look into coconut milk with my Vitamin A. I have magnesium but I'm not taking it as I have not been told by my PA or anyone else that my levels were low. I will look into the copper as well. Is there an amount that we should take? I was not aware that I needed to watch the MCV with B12 I was just looking at the B12 number. :)

Both magnesium and copper are sdeadly declining That may be a sign you not getting enough.
I get a lot if B12 and my blood work B12 is only close to 1000.
I feel best when my B12 is 1000-1500.
High MCV I ndicste that body is not getting - using enough B12.. Yours is getting bigger.
Watch not only for levels - but how they are changing. I like my magnesium at night. It relaxes me and helps me sleep better.
