Hello,

I was diagnosed on Friday with an ulcer due to my sutures not dissolving after surgery.  My surgery was in 2009.  Has anyone had this experience?  My surgeon is telling me I must have surgery to remove them.

in your pouch or intestines?  That doesn't make sense to me.  Have you had ulcers in the past - before RNY?  How was it determined that there were undissolved sutures - endoscopy?  I wouldn't think they would show up on x-ray?

Did you have surgery at St. Vincent's?

Sorry you are having problems.  Best wishes, Penny

I was dianosed by my surgeon conducting on endoscopy.  I have had no previous ulcers and it is in my pouch.  I will be having surgery to remove the sutures with a possibility of a revision or new pouch being created dependant upon how the pouch reacts after removing the suture.  My surgery took place at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.
