What's on the menu today, RNY-ers?
Hi OH Friends! I am going to have to pass the torch to someone else for the next four days to post since I will be poolside in Puerto Rico (don't hate me!) and although I will likely have wi-fi and try to log on via my phone, the truth is, I am going to have to wing it everyday and see what the hotel restaurants serve. There is an Asian place so I can get fish, and I am sure there are chicken breasts available. I am bringing almonds and turkey jerky to supplement for protein just in case. The weather is going to be 85...I cannot wait! Mostly, I can't wait to have four days away from my desk LOL. So if one of you kind people could post a "What's on the menu today" post until I am back on Monday, that would be awesome :)
Time Since Surgery: I think 13.5 weeks?
B: 3 oz deli turkey, 1 oz parmesan cheese (just had a coffee, haven't started in on breakfast yet but am about to)
L: Shrimp and onions with a little cheese and sour cream
D: Rotisserie chicken from a hole in the wall Peruvian place on my block
E: Going to walk 2 miles on the treadmill. Did a 50 minute personal training session yesterday and I CAN FEEL IT!
V: On track
W: Does 10 oz of coffee count? LOL - I will get my water in!
That will make my totals 623 calories, 34 g of fat, 17 g of carbs, and 61 g of protein. I see some of you with HUGE protein numbers and I eat no carbs but in three meals I can't seem to break the 60-70 g mark. (Do I say this everyday? LOL)
What's on your menu today?
B: Pure Protein Chewy Peanut Butter Bar
L: Vanilla Flax Seed Shake
S: Yoplait Light Vanilla, String Cheese, apple
S: 100 cal. popsecret butter popcorn
“Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”― Marc Hack

You are going to have so much fun!! Not only are you going on an awesome vacation, your gonna look great and feel great while your doing it!!! My husband and I tool a weekend trip a few weeks ago. Something we do as often as we can, but this time the whole experience was more fun. I think it's because I'm 70 pounds lighter and feel so much better. I didn't realize it before but I was a slug.
LOL @slug! I feel the same way! 70 lbs down I already have SO much more energy! But I am still far above your starting weight :( I am bringing workout clothes and I am committed to going to the hotel gym on Fri and Sat. Other than that, i am ok with being a slug by the pool. I have tons of trashy magazines and a book. I just want to get caught up on sleep! I would normally be planning excursions but I think this might be three days of relaxation :) That's awesome that you are taking good couples trips and enjoying them!
That sounds like so much fun! My son went to Costa Rica over spring break for a college class and I was so jealous! I love working out in hotel gyms now because their equipment is always better than mine at home. I also love that I can go in there now and not feel self conscious which is a huge change for me. Have a great time! 19 months post op B 1/2c steel cut oats with nuts and 1/2 banana with peanut butter L 3 Oz's deli chicken and cheese and 1/2 c cooked cabbage left from Monday S whole wheat crackers with peanut butter D baked cod with some coleslaw S 3/4 c Greek yogurt with 1 oz nuts W on track V morning dose done E 30 minutes on treadmill at 3.9 mph and 4% incline already done. Will do bike for 20 minutes later too. I have support group tonight too. Have a great day everyone
You are going to have so much fun! I would love a relaxing vacation! With a 4 and 6 year old, our vacations are far from relaxing. Totally up to you, but you will have to have some protein snacks in order to increase your protein numbers. I know we have discussed this before, but even at 15 months out (yesterday), there's no way I could eat enough at one sitting to get in all my protein. Also, I would be so hungry in between meals. There's no way that would work for me. You are a trooper!
Oh yeah, kids will definitely cut in on relaxing vacations!!!!
It's so weird but my NUT is insistent that we do not snack. I feel like I can eat more than others at a meal, so maybe that's why I don't snack. Like when I see that someone is eating TWO chicken wings, I am like damnnnn I can eat more than that! I don't feel hungry between meals but I definitely eat 4 oz meals. The three meals definitely contributes to my 60 g of protein per day though. If needed I can add a shake for another 30 g. I am taking the almonds and turkey jerky because I am not checking my bag and so I can't take pre-made shakes. Hmmm I guess I can bring some packets now that I think of it. Thanks for the reminder!
I could never eat just 3 meals a day. My plan is 3 meals and a snack, but now in maintenance at below drs goal I have 2-3 snacks plus my meals.
Have fun and rest up in PR!
