6 Month Post-Op Calories

VSG on 03/04/14 with

I have never eaten back exercise calories. MFP is not set up for WLSers. Follow what your doctor and nutritionist recommend.

  • 3-6 Months After Surgery: I ate 600-700 calories a day
  • 7-9 Months After Surgery: I ate 800-900 calories a day
  • 10-12 Months After Surgery: I ate 1000 calories a day
  • 13-Months After Surgery to Goal Weight: I ate 1200 calories a day

***Do not adjust calories for exercise. Recommended exercise calories burned are worthless and exaggerated.

I agree with this. Unless you are an elite athlete (which 99% of us are not), you are not burning that many calories. I never eat them back. Most of us long-term successful vets do not.
