Mine was 3-5 months too, but not that bad. Just a little more shedding than normal. At around 6 months it stopped and seems to be as full as ever now. I do take a biotin tab every day.

Mine started coming out around the third month. So I had it cut short for the first year.

Started at about 3 1/2 months, I am almost 6 months now and it has slowed down.

Hi,

I am just shy of 5 months post op and my hair is coming out a lot now. It started around 3 months and was more and more over the 4th month.  I had long dark hair (down to my waist almost) and over xmas (one month post op) I chopped it it up to my shoulders.  I am fortunate because I do have a lot of hair and the loss is only noticeable to me, tons coming out in the shower, a ton in my hair brush, tons on my sweaters, coat that kind of thing.  I told my Mom the other day how much hair I am losing and when I saw her in person she said "what are you talking about, you still have a ton of hair" so I think its my own vanity that notices it.  I was REALLY upset about the fact that we lose hair as part of this surgery process.  I remember in my Orientation class of all the things they told us that statement hit me like a ton of bricks, but now, after losing 80 lbs and feeling on top of the world because of how good I feel and how much energy I have and how much my life has changed for the positive I would take hair loss any day.  Having this surgery was one of the best things I ever did.  So I lose some hair, I am gaining so much more (confidence, new clothes LOL LOL)

Take care,

Daisy

Do a search for Ketosis and Weight Loss and you will see that it is related to carb intake.  I'm trying to figure the ratio that will slow it down for me.

I will probably have to get a wig because my hair is thin anyway due to my thyroid meds and it will be noticeable to everyone.
