Ask him!!! Perhaps he is giving you a `ballpark`guesstimate to look to. He might be saying `no more than`, or àt least`, or àround`. (sorry for weird punctuation....silly computer), and not telling you to lose ònly`that amount..... If you follow your plan, eat and drink as you are supposed to, along with exercise, it will guide you to your weight loss. And maybe he is just trying to givve you a goal for your `honeymoon period`. He is the only one who can answer that question! Good luck!
My advice is to make the best of the first 18 months post RNY and make life changes while your body is malabsorbing. Cut out the junk food, fast food, eat proper proportion sizes, follow your plan, take your supplements, go to support groups and get exercise in. Many peoples weight loss slow from the 12-18 month mark. (I continued losing until 2 years post-op, but that was me).
Don't compare. No one has your past, your metabolism, your health problems, family problems, etc. Follow your plan, be serious and decide that food is fuel, it is nutrition that your brain, kidneys, heart, pancreas, etc. needs. Don't let food be a reward or use food for feelings/emotions. Make choices and have boundaries.
Best wishes on your journey. Penny

I'm guessing that is the minimum he's seeking you to lose, not your maximum.
I was 289 day of surgery and 172 this morning and I'll be a year out 13 May. I would no way have stopped at 189 back in November! I've still got a bit to go. :)
Have you asked your surgeon what his success criteria is? If he considers 85% EWL as success, then that might be where he came up with 100.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
