What's on the menu today, RNY-ers?
Hi OH peeps! Rainy rainy weekend headed to DC, going on a DATE tonight (and yes, he knows I am not drinking alcohol lol) so looking forward to that...
Another OH friend and I were lamenting that even 75 lbs down we still feel FAT...but then I looked at a pic from last year and MAN can I see a difference! If you are feeling let down by your loss, just compare to a pre-op pic and it will brighten your day!
Time Since Surgery: Almost 15 weeks
B: 3 oz 99% fat free ground turkey with taco seasoning, jalapeño sauce, shredded light mexican cheese
L: Had a trip to the Holy Grail, Trader Joe's, the other night. I bought some of the pre-grilled rosemary and grilled balsamic vinegar chicken breast, so I plan to mix it with some light mayo and eat it as chicken salad. Potentially with 2 cheese crisps.
D: Looked at the restaurant menu and I think I will have shrimp and pesto.
S: May have a Syntrax Matrix shake before my personal training session at 12:30
V: On track so far
W: 16 oz in
E: 25 minute training session and 35 minutes on treadmill
Totals (if I have the shake) will be around 700 calories, 88 g of protein, 28 g of fat, 16 g of carbs

Ahhhhhhhh Ambien! I am not sleeping well these days, so I would love to get my paws on some (legitimately - I do have some that someone gave me once lol). Glad you slept so well! And lol @"yep, still leftovers". I have had four meals of ground turkey and I may have to throw the final one away. I am just tired of it! Hope you have a great weekend, Candy :)
I first tried ambien during a sleep study. I just asked my PCP for a script and he gave it to me for trouble shutting down my brain to sleep LOL. I try to only use it occasionally, it can give me nightmares.

Cloudy sad day here in Illinois as I had to take my dog of almost 15 years to be put down. He had arthritis and could no longer make the steps to get in the house. I knew it was coming but not how much I would miss him. He had been with me every hour of every day and was my rock through my boys going off to college and my various illnesses and surgeries. It was the hardest to Hong I have ever had to do. The house seems so empty today. Time out is 19 months. B 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and 1/2 banana with peanut butter S apple with peanut butter L going Mexican with son will have a junior chalupa without the shell D 3-4 oz fish and 1/2c veggie mix S 3/4 c Greek yogurt with nuts. On track with fluids and vitamins. E 30 minutes treadmill and 20 minutes bike. Proud that I did not overeat yesterday to deal with pain but instead exercised. That's a new habit for sure!
Oh Karen, I'm so so sorry about your pup! I know how you must feel my dear, I have a 20 year old kitty who's horribly arthritic, hyperthyroid and has gradually failing kidneys. He takes more medications than I do these days, and as much as I know that someday I'm going to have to say goodbye, my heart breaks just thinking about it. He's been within five feet of me whenever I'm home for so long now, I just don't know what I'll do when he's gone. I'm in tears now just thinking about it, and about how much pain you're feeling now.
I hope you have lots of pictures and many, many fond memories of your doggy friend. The best thing we can do for them is love them enough and be strong enough to give them that final gift of comfort and peace. We never have them long enough, though.
It's wonderful that you didn't automatically head to food for comfort, though! What a great silver lining in this cloud. You should be very proud of yourself!
Internet *hugs* if you want 'em.
