Great job staying on track during vacation, especially with tortillas and pan dulce calling you! I'm curious about your notation of the apple and PB2, how do you add the PB2 to the apple? Do you just coat slices of the apple with it, or do you mix it with water back into PB? Inquiring minds and all that!

Also, I find it odd that your surgeon's office won't give you a goal weight until you're a year out. I can see setting a goal weight and then maybe revising it at that point. What are your feelings about that?

I just put the powder in a small dish and dip my apple in it. No water. I've mixed it in light cool whip before and that was delish!

I'm guessing they don't want to overwhelm me with a goal weight. I have a personal goal of 160 lbs. That is what I weighed when I got married. My top weight for a healthy BMI is 135 lbs but I feel that is too thin for me. She said that is usually the case with their patients so that is why they wait to see where they fall in at a year then make a determination. If I feel 160 is still too heavy I will revise it.

Good job sticking with your program, RRach! Have you started tracking with MyFitnessPal or some other tracker?

Em, you are totally rocking this journey.  You are totally planned for success for your NY trip!  The hardest thing about when I went to NY in December was throwing SO MUCH food away.  It was literally painful for me.  When I eat out in my home town, I get leftovers for 2-3 meals. . .something to look forward to.  You can't save leftovers on a trip to NY and you definitely don't want to carry them around.  It was horrifying for me to throw that food away and to spend that much money on a few bites (although they were good bites).

Yes, it was Guy Fieri's restaurant.  It was a cool atmosphere, but the food wasn't amazing.  I am so jealous that you live by a Rosa Mexicana.  That meal was one of my favorites!  The closest one to me is in Miami. . .a mere 4-5 hours away.  I live in a somewhat small town in Florida.  NY was loaded with adorable little places to eat.  Are you going to see any shows?  Last year we saw Jersey Boys and this year we saw Cinderella.  Can't wait to hear how your trip goes. . .just imagine how springy your steps will be with all that weight loss!!!  When I went last year in late October, it was before surgery. . . and my feet were in so much pain.  This year, I was nearly at goal (130 pounds lighter) and it was amazing how different my trip was.

I am totally planning for tons of walking!  I am not seeing any shows (I saw Book of Mormon in London last October and all shows will likely pale after that lol) but I am spending the weekend with four friends (one from Baltimore, one from Detroit, one from Toronto) and then seeing other various friends for walking/shopping/eating :)  I know I am still MO but yes my feet will be so happy!  Walking 7 miles last Saturday was a great practice run!  I feel like a different person and buoyed by how much energy I have.  I guess I never realized how little energy I had.  Did I think that was normal?  LOL

We do have great restaurants here.  And I hear ya on throwing away food.  Things that used to be a part of a meal are now 2-3 meals.  I will definitely not be carrying them around or storing them.  My friends might clean my plate in some cases :)  I often order egg white omelets with veggies and cheese and bacon - eat the bacon and some eggs/veggies/cheese and who cares about wasting some eggs I figure?  I would feel bad ordering a half chicken with two sides and throwing all the rest away :(
