Hi All,

Well now that I am back in an office environment, and many hours ahead of you, I am happy to start the post if I see it hasn't gone up yet :)  Also happy to share duties, don't get me wrong, so always feel free to start the post too!

I did end up going to the gym last night although I was planning to take the day off - I was motivated by you guys!  So thanks for that :)

I realized this morning as I was walking a mile from my hotel to my office that six months ago, I would have googled how far it was and taken a cab.  What a difference now!  I think, "Only a mile? Even walking to and from the office, how will I make my 10,000 steps?"

Time Since Surgery: 5 months next week

B: Egg white and cheese omelette, bacon (still the thick slabs of meat over here so I just had a few bites; and the omelette was rather oily so I didn't have much)

L: Leftover shish taouk (chicken kebab) and hummus and garlic paste from yesterday's lunch.  The whole office reeks of garlic, thanks to me.  (everyone thinks it's hilarious that I can expense my lunch and I am eating leftovers lol)

D: We have a group dinner at a French restaurant, which can be disastrous, but they have a baked sea bass entree with lemon butter roasted leeks.  YUM!

W: I've had 20 oz of water so far, and two coffees with soy milk

V: One batch down the hatch

E: None specifically planned, already walked 1.5 miles

ETA: Totals are 777 calories, 72 g protein, 29 g carbs (ugh, high for me yet again), 41 g fat

What's on your menu today?

Good morning Emily and all! Is today your last day abroad? I'm sure you'll be happy to return to your routine and kitchen scale

Was very bummed about the cancellation of water aerobics last night, but I still headed to the gym and did my elliptical workout. I also hit the grocery store and got a few new things to try - veggie burgers, ground turkey for taco meat (though I forgot I wanted to get guac! I didn't put it on my list), and mashed potatoes - never in my life did I think I would make instant mashed potatoes, but it seemed like a good way to try them out since the packet was only $.99 and I'm going to eat 1 oz.

As I'm want to do, I end up changing my dinner items when I hit the grocery store because I want to try something new - last night I switched my omelet out for a Morningstar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burger and it was awesome! Very flavorful and did good on my pouch. They're maybe a little carby for some, but I felt like it had good stats for the taste and filling power!

Time since surgery: 7 weeks

B: 3oz cottage cheese, 1oz unsweetened applesauce

S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake

L: veggie burger, 1 slice of colby-jack cheese, 1oz steam carrots

S: 12oz Nectar Lemon Tea protein shake

D: 2oz ground turkey taco meat, 1 tablespoon plain greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon shredded cheese

TOTALS: Calories 639, Fat 11.4, Carbs 27.7, Protein 107.7

V: working on it - yesterday I forgot everythign after my multi, I don't know what happened, first time I've forgotten, set alarms for today

E: walked the track this morning, 2 miles in, might hit the gym if time allows

W: working on it

My very best friend is on her way to me AS WE SPEAK! G and I have been friends since nursery school, but these days she and her family are in SC. G and her little girl are heading up to PA for a visit and I'm their first stop. They'll stay with me tonight through Saturday morning before moving on and I can't wait. Unfortunately I have a long day at work tomorrow, so won't get to spend much time with them, but Friday I'm taking off and we'll have an especially fun day including the local children's museum - Please Touch - and the Zoo, if we're up for it. This will be another test of my planning skills and determination!

Anny - awesome that you still opted to go to the gym despite water aerobics being canceled!!!  Your visit from your friend sounds so fun!  I am sure it will be like five minutes has passed since you have seen each other :)  It's also great that tomorrow is your Friday.  I fly home tomorrow night and Friday I will work from home and do personal training.  As amazing and fun as this trip has been, it will be nice to be home :)

I haven't tried that veggie burger, but I really like the Morningstar Farms Vegan Grillers (in a red box).  One has 100 calories, 12 protein, 7 carbs.  I like it with a slice of pepperjack cheese and a tsp of mustard and a tbsp of low sugar ketchup.  I find it to be very fulfilling!

You can totally plan and make it through the weekend with your bff and her little girl!  I am sure you can find some chicken or fish or something anywhere you guys go.  Wait til your friend sees you in person!

(I also change my menu on the fly...I am doing a "big" grocery shop on Fri after two weeks away) so who knows what will appeal to me!

I will definitely have to look for the vegan grillers. I choose the spicy blackbean burgers because they sounds the most flavors, but the idea of the pepperjack cheeses makes the others sound more palatable and I like that they're less calories. I wasn't too concerned about the carbs of the blackbean burger, but at 120 calories, it is a little more than I've typically been trying to do in just one part of a meal, you know? Thanks for the tip!

Anny, I admire your dedication to that elliptical! I'm hoping that eventually I can make friends with it too, but on our first introduction it seems to be very demanding! ;)

The gym I go to has an aqua aerobics class every day at 9:30 in the morning. I've ordered a bathing suit online and will plan to attend one or two sessions a week once it comes in.

OMG...I just realized, that means I'm going to have to shave!! I haven't had to worry about that in so many years...this should be interesting!

Hope you have a great time with your friend in town! Sounds like you have a nice visit planned. I think kid's museums are almost as much fun for adults, so it would be nice to have a kid around as an excuse to go! We have the Magic House here in St. Louis, and we've been to a Lego exhibit there once. It makes me wish I was a kid again myself.

Have fun!

Right now it is mostly shear will that is sending me to the gym. I'm definitely not yet an "I love the gym" kind of gal - but I do love how the pounds seem to be melting off, so I'm going to keep it up.

I'm also super jealous of your impending water aerobics schedule. The Y offers a bunch of different classes, but most are during the day and this pesky library seems to need me then. A friend suggested I check the schedule to see if there is one offered that I could do during "lunch time" so I'll have to check into that.

And I hear you on the shaving....I thought the same thing!

Thanks, 3BassetHounds!  Yum...fresh tuna steak is a fave of mine.  I have come to love raw tuna so much that I don't even like to sear it anymore.  My NUT says that we produce less stomach acid after RNY so I need to be careful of raw foods due to the fear of food borne illness but I refuse to give up my sashimi :)  Enjoy your day!
