Thanks Anny, I am feeling pretty darn great!  The Garden Vegetable eggbeater came with small pieces of green & red pepper, mushrooms and onions.  Very small pieces but they were there nonetheless and it was very tasty.  It was my first time trying it and I really enjoyed it.

Hi Daisy!  What an awesome NSV!  It's nice to lug around a lighter body, isn't it?!  You must be so happy.  And to have a day off...even better!  We have next Monday as a holiday in the States.  It's Memorial Day.  So next week is a short week!  YAY!

I just ate the chicken and goat cheese and it was divine!  Trader Joe's is my favorite store...the balsamic vinaigrette and rosemary chicken comes already grilled and in the vinegar...I nuke it for 45 seconds and put a dollop of goat cheese on it.  LOVE.

Your menu sounds awesome, b/c as you say, we share the same taste buds :)  Try the cauliflower crust, I promise.  I was a little gassy afterwards but it didn't bother my belly at all.  It doesn't taste like cauliflower either.  You can add lots of spices to it and it's very Italian like.  And it feels like a crust.  For real.  I mean, we can melt some cheese and sauce together, but the crust makes it seem more pizza-esque!

Enjoy your leisurely day and your gardening!  I hope your weather is as gorgeous as ours!

Thank you Em, and yes what a massive difference it is to lug around a smaller/lighter body.  Never knew I could feel this good.  And yes an extra day off is always lovely, so glad you guys get next Monday off as well, I love short work weeks!

I am hoping to try and find this Trader Joe's you all talk about when I go down to the US in two weeks and if I find one of those stores I am so grabbing some of this balsamic chicken!!! Mmmmmmmm!!!

Ok maybe next weekend I will sit down and try this cauliflower crust, I trust you!!  Of all the food I have sworn off, pizza is the one I miss most.  I was a sugar addict, candy, chocolate pre surgery and I don't miss any of it now, but pizza, OH MY that calls my name, especially during PMS week! LOL LOL

Amen, Daisy!  I do not miss sweets.  I get enough of a sweet having one caramel 500 MG calcium chew each night.  But savory things are my favorite, and pizza is my ultimate fave.  Try it!  I had some for dinner and am bringing a piece for lunch tomorrow too!  Bring a cooler and ice for Trader Joe's...what city are you going to?  Buffalo?  Detroit?  I grew up in Detroit so I used to party in Windsor starting at age 19 and I have spent countless weekends in Toronto!

Daisy Congrats on the hike!  I love NSV like that, they are so much more tangible than just the scale moving.  I think everyone who gets surgery has moments pre-surgery, where their obese bodies prevent them from living the life they want, and post surgery when you have the realization that you can do things you weren't doing before (or weren't doing easily) those are my favorite moments!  So congrats!

I feel you on freaking out about the honeymoon period.  I'm almost 4 months out, and I'm already worried about it.  I know weight loss slows down, but I'm really worried about how much it'll slow down.  I still have 95 lbs I want to lose, so only losing a lb a week would be really hard to take.  What's crazy to me is that it seems like some people don't leave the honeymoon until a year out and other's it's way sooner.  Hopefully we both get a full year of "honeymoon" stage :)  Good luck and congrats again on your hike!

Thank you Dodgergirl! I agree with you 100% about the NSV, its always great to see the scale go down, but times like this where I am participating in life now like how I always wanted too it so much better (for me at least).

Oh freaking out about the honeymoon phase ticking by quickly is pretty much on my mind now all the time.  I will admit I have been obsessing a bit over how slow the scale is moving now, how I can eat more now, how I have more of an appetite now, I am starting to crave carbs again (although I am not acting on it, I am craving them) and how I really only have 4-5 more months of malabsorption and "honeymoon" phase, ya I am kinda freaking out. On one hand I LOVE OH and all the great info, great people, great advice but then its so incredibly hard to not compare oneself with other people, people who had surgery the same month as me and they are losing faster or they eat smaller portions or exercise more.  Its hard not to compare.  I go back in July to my centre for my 6 month post op visit although by July I will be closer to 8 1/2 months post op and I am hoping that they will give me some more "what you should be eating" by this stage talk but who knows, I found my centre was amazing pre surgery, but not so great post surgery. I get a lot of "everyone is different" talk, blah, blah, blah, just give me an answer!  So I totally hear you on the fingers crossed we both get a full year of honeymoon stage.  And I think you will have no problem losing another 95 in 8 months, that is 11-12 pounds a month, so keep up the great menu and you will do great!!! Thanks again!!

Daisy, it's good to see you! I know you were feeling icky for a while, hopefully you're all recovered now...well, you must be to have done all that hiking! What a fabulous NSV, I can't imagine how good you must have felt to have done all that and yet feel so good about it all. You go, girl!
