What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Hi OH Friends! Good morning and hope your days are all off to a good start. I did something a little different today - I walked .7 miles to the gym and did 30 minutes of cardio, 50 minutes of personal training, and then showered there and took a cab to the office lol. I felt like killing someone when the alarm went off, but now I am glad it's done and out of the way! So perhaps try a morning workout if it's at all feasible with your schedule!
Time Since Surgery: 5 months 2 weeks
B1: Coffee with Click Mocha protein powder (at 6:45 am! VERY necessary!)
B2: Crab, cheddar, artichoke, shallot egg white frittata (after my workout)
L: A cup of cauliflower mash, 3 oz grilled chicken
S: 3 oz Dole frozen mango that I weigh out and bag up and then it thaws in the fridge. Sweet like candy!
D: Cauliflower pizza crust with turkey pepperoni (I am obsessed, can you tell!)
E: cardio and 50 mins strength training
V: Oops, will get on it now
W: 25 oz water in, 10 oz coffee in, 32 oz water next to me now
Totals for the day are: 800 calories, 79 g protein, 30 g fat, 48 g carbs
I have still been steadily but slowly losing even though my carbs are near 50 everyday. So though I was an adamant "20 g of carbs per day max!" person, I am now reformed, and especially when I am working out so intensely. Not saying you should do this, but just saying what is working for me :)
Not to sound like a broken record but I so appreciate the banter on this post, and the ideas and inspiration!
What's on your menu today, RNYers? Em
Hi ShadeMcG! Looks like a good menu for 1.5 years out! Nice :) My NUT also wants me on 3 meals, no snacks, but I have to have a snack the days I work out. Do you still ever have protein shakes or do you find you can get all of your protein in from food?
Crab stuffed shrimp sounds AMAZING. If you have a recipe, please share! YUM!
That looks like a delicious menu for the day! I'm curious too, do you only eat three meals a day? And do you get all your protein in that way?

I stole it with pride from you! it was very very yummy. Yes, between the greek yogurt and the meat at every meal I get 70 to 100 grams most days. I usually only eat three...but occasionally will have a protein bar for a snack if I'm munchy. I drink a ton of water. I think that helps curb the head hungry. :)

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

I am very happy with my program and the results! The worst time for me is during my period. I often feel anxious and hungry- Well I think I am..... I have been trying to deal with this TOM.....
Hi Lisa! Congrats on your awesome weight loss so far! You are basically at my goal weight (170) and in five months! Way to go!!! You should be happy with the program and results but clearly you are doing a lot of work to follow it so be happy with yourself, first and foremost :)
You are also not the first to mention Miralax. I am gonna have to try it. Something's gotta give...pun intended ;)
And I think we all hear you on the TOM issue. I become a bottomless pit. I have to keep busy - if I am sitting at home, I will MUNCH. I also find pickles to be a good snack - they are crunchy and salty and about 5 calories each!
The BEST part of all of this is it doesn't feel like work. I mean it is, but it isn't!
It's like a heavy burden has been lifted of my shoulders. For the first time I have limits and only so many choices. I have to stay within those parameters. I have boundaries. I like it!
Miralax everyday! The term "**** a brick" had no meaning to me until RNY! LOL!
TOM has always been an issue for me. THE BOTTOMLESS PIT syndrome is awful! I try to stay busy with housework or walking the dogs. SUGAR FREE bread and butter pickles are the bomb!
Lisa, great work on your loss! And total agreement on the Miralax, I've become rather fond of it after having to change up my *ahem* routine.
Sorry about the TOM stuff. Not to gloat, but there's a reason to enjoy being post menopausal!
