You have lost 71 lbs and surgery was only 2.5 months ago!??! WOW!  I guess I didn't realize it was that much in such a short time.

I have also found that on big exercise days, I cannot be psychotic about the scale.  My body simply needs calories and carbs to do intense workouts.  I wouldn't sit home and eat a bag of pretzels but 1/2 an ounce of roasted chickpeas seems ok to me :)  I bought some online and am taking them with me to England/France next week.  Haven't opened them yet.  I am curious to see if I will like them!

Which ones did you get, Em?

The Saffron Road falafel flavored one in a six ounce bag :)  Between those and some protein shake packets and some tuna packets and some habanero almonds, I should be good to go with snacks!

Of course as a team-building activity we are going to learn how to make ****tails.  I will be the ONLY person who doesn't then drink them!  But I bet people will want to be on my team and "help" imbibe lol!

Thanks, Em! Not to discount anything, but I do have to say that I lost 20 pounds pre-op, the other 50 has been in the 12 weeks since. I look at the graph of my progress on MFP sometimes and am totally speechless, it feels amazing.

Oh! I bet you'll like the roasted chick peas, I find them really satisfying - I love the crunch!

I love seeing my graph on MFP too! A few little blips but mostly steady progress! It feels great. And makes me realize how far I've come. :)

I agree Anny. With the exercise you did your unplanned snack was no problem. I always have a snack about an hour or so before bed. If I skip it my blood sugar is seriously low in the morning. My doctor really doesn't like snacks in the losing phase but actually had me add a bedtime snack after I checked and reported my morning sugars to them.

Interesting. My program isn't big on snacks either, but they also say "Eat every 4-5 hours" so if you wake up at 6:30am and go to bed at 11pm then you need to have at least ONE snack, right? I've never tracked my blood sugars...that would be interesting to see.

Hi again DCgirl,

Thank you for the nice email. I tried the phen phen route too. Actually I've tried everything in the sun. Even started running when I was in 7th grade. I was starting to get heavy in early years. I have a lot of faith that the WLS is the way to go. I'm really great about working out. Just not so good at eating. This OH site is amazing. So much love and support. Thanks again for the notes and I'll stay close to you. You are so inspiring. I'll keep you posted on my surgery. Praying for oct. like i mentioned. Keep up the good work pretty girl.

Robin
