Hi everyone! Last night I made a yummy spinach salad with ricotta salata, grilled shallots, a little olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper and man it was good. I'm trying to get more potassium in my diet and spinach is a great way to do that. Hope everyone is having a great week so far. It's only wednesday, but I'm ready for the weekend!

B: 3oz boars head turkey, 1oz muenster

L: 1oz ground beef, 2Tb FF refried beans, 1Tb reduced fat cheese

D: spinach salad again maybe?

W: i need to do better

V: on track

E: hike or swim, I'll decide later

Hello Everyone!!!

Well day two of me posting.... Yay me!!! This thread is really theraputic so no more of me playing disappearing acts! ;) DCGirl, thanks so much for the welcome back. I really didn't know I am such an inspiration to you.... That put a smile on my face! Me posting on this is my accountability and so is the scale.

Many people at work keep commenting on my weight, asking how much have I lost today? As if, I lose 20 pounds a day or something but they seem to think so! They really think I'm making this whole weight loss journey look easy to them but they have no ideas the demons that lie within me when it comes to eating and the emotional rollar coaster this surgery caused but hey I'm dealing with it. By any means, this is not "the easy way out," I keep telling them that.

Good Morning Everyone,

DC glad to hear everything is going well in London.  I"m jealous of all the steps you are taking and it helps me realize I need to pick it up today.  Today's goal is to really focus on protein, my #'s have been low(55 -60 range), so my goal is to get back up to 80+ grams today.

In other news, my book club just finished reading "Flash Boys" by Michael Lewis.  It's non-fiction about high frequency traders on Wall Street and it was really really good.  I thought it was a great read (and so did my book club), and I just thought I'd pass the recommendation along, since I know it's summer and people are sometimes looking for things to read.

Time since surgery 4 3/4 months

B - Fage Froyo (I grabbed this instead of my 2%, it's a little higher in carbs and cals, but I'm not too worried about it)

S - Premier Protein

L - At work we are going to Portillo's (people in the midwest maybe familiar), so I'll eat the inside of an Italian beef sandwich

D - Going to Italian with friends, I think I'll get a meatball & salad

V - Forgot to take this morning, will take tonight

W - On track

E - Will do 30 min Shred when I get home

Have a great day everyone!

:)  I know, when I lived in Chicago I ate at Portillo's at least once a week.  It's SOOO good!  I'm a little nervous to go there b/c I love everything on the menu.  Luckily it's like an hour drive from my office and home and I am only going there b/c it's near a clients business.  So, I figure it's a rare treat.

Every once in a while I will get a beef and "gravy" and have some beef. I truly miss cheese fries and my favorite Beef and Cheddar croissant. Enjoy!

Good afternoon OH Friends, I'm back home after my 3.5 days of leadership workshopping. I'm currently exhausted, but energized to get back to work with purpose. This was my first post-op living out of a hotel, group meals that I have very little control over type situation and I think I fair pretty well. Those rolls and desserts really called to me, but I resisted! I tried a few things I hadn't yet and though I know the typical rule is "don't try anything out that you haven't tried in the privacy of your home," things worked out ok - so now I know I do ok with roughage, a little bit of strawberries, and hamburger meat.

Today I'm also celebrating my 3 month surg-i-versary and feeling pretty amazing about my journey thus far. I'm down 77 pounds (although I weighed myself just now and was the same as when I left for my trip, which makes me think I probably lost a pound or two since I typically weigh first thing in the morning before eating or drinking and when I'm not wearing clothes, so I'll have to do a more "official" weigh in tomorrow morning) which is completely MIND BOGGLING to me! But as with most of us, it isn't just the changes in my weight that I'm feeling now - I feel more confident and strong, I see a difference in how I interact with others and how I perceive I'm being received (if that makes sense), I'm off my blood pressure medication, I'm on the way to being done with my CPAP. What a difference 3 months can make!

I'm not posting my menu today as it is ridiculous, but I look forward to joining back in the conversation tomorrow!

77 lbs!!!  Congratulations!!!  You look like such a skinny minny in your pics - so proud of you!

That's awesome that you are re-energized from your training.  Those are the BEST trainings.  It sounds like you did really good traveling.  I can always find SOMETHING, unless I am at a pizzeria/pasta restaurant or a bakery.  So glad it worked out!

You have so many NSVs to go along with your SVs.  So so so so happy for you :)

Hey everyone!

Its been forever, after my move to AZ its honestly just been crazy. I am shocked that it has now been almost 10 months since surgery. I am still a work in progress with about 30 lbs more to go hopefully. Planning a wedding, school, and work leaves little time to remember to hop on here but I will make more of an effort. New friends and socializing creates its own challenges and I might need support sometimes.

Todays menu:

B- Health nut shake (unflavored protein, frozen blueberries, a small banana, and a packet of almond butter)

S- Sugar free carmel iced coffee with splash nonfat milk.

L: Avocado and crab salad

S- Skinny cow ice cream sandwich

D- leftover avocado and crab salad.
