Hello OH friends!

It's a short week for those of us in the US with the 4th being on Friday!  This makes me EXCEEDINGLY happy.  There is a heat wave passing through DC but now that I weigh less, it's more tolerable.  I'm sure you can relate!  That's a major NSV for sure.

In crazy news, I resigned from my job and got a new one.  I'm a mixture of excited, sad, and terrified.  It's a great new opportunity.  I had a thought the other day - no one at my new company will know me as super morbidly obese.  I mean, at 223 lbs, I am no skinny minny, but to them I will be overweight and nothing more.  Whereas at my current job every single day I get compliments and looks (which I don't mind) but everyone here knew me back when.  Crazy.

Anyway, on to the menu.  Lots less traction on this post these days...but I know Anny, Karen, Kenyatta, Pam, Dodgergirl, Finding Feather, Liv's Mom etc...you will hopefully chime in!

Time Since Surgery: 6.5 months

B: 3 oz boar's head turkey, 1 oz pepperjack cheese.  My pouch isn't always hungry for food (as opposed to a protein shake) in the morning so we will see.  I am working on a coffee right now. Then I will try to eat

L: Ugh, this week is filled with people taking me to lunch (nice, but I prefer to pack my own and control the calories).  Luckily today is sushi so I will have tuna sashimi and avocado

D: Seeing old family friends that live in VA.  They are making stuffed shells, garlic bread and salad.  I will have...salad.  LOL!

E: None today.  I went Tues-Sun and my body is SORE.  I need a break today.

V: This is one area where I have GOT TO GET BETTER.  Taking them now.

Well my totals will be pretty awesome today.  Planning on 800-900 calories and at least 80 g of protein.  Dinner is the wildcard.

As a topic for today, can you tell me what brand of jeans you are wearing and at what size?  I am not finding ANY that fit my saggy thighs and newly flattened butt.  Yeah, looking hot let me tell ya!  HA HA!  Thank god I feel so amazing and have so much energy or this new body of mine would be pretty depressing!

Congratulations on your new job.The heat here in Jersey isn't as bad as it was when I was 300 pounds.I don't mind sweating.

B:Egg with zucchini and chicken sausage

L:I am thinking turkey and cheese wraps

D:Pork tenderloin with sweet potatos and green beans

S:Cheese stick/if I need one

Vitamins first round are done 20oz of coffee done.

Exercise I am going to do some yard work and get my grill ready

Its hot in Illinois too,Em,but Lily and I already got our three miles in today. When I finish my cup of coffee I will spend some time with Jillian as well. Twenty minutes of torture is how I see it but I need to tone the muscles in these saggy arms so there you have it! I am now 22 months post op and weigh in at 119.8. On track with vitamins and water as well. Here's the plan: B 1/2 c oats with nuts and 1/2 banana with peanut butter L 3 oz deli turkey and cheese and 1/2 c cottage cheese S whole grain crackers with peanut butter D ham and beans couple bites of a corn muffin S 3/4 c Greek yogurt with nuts. As far as jeans go I wear whatever brand I can find and my butt is so tiny that the ones that fit best are girls size 14. I also can wear misses size 0 which are hard to find or juniors size one. The juniors are often so low cut on the hips that they are not really comfortable. I too have a hard time finding a fit that I like. Used to I couldn't find them big enough and now I can't find them small enough! Hope everyone has a great day!

Oops, we DID post at the same time. So I'm just going to paste my post into this one...but first - the jeans. Not sure if you're looking for casual or "dressy" jeans, but I'm loving the Old Navy boyfriend jeans. They're super cheap, like $20ish, and are supposed to be a little slouchy, so they are pretty forgiving. I'm wearing a 16 in them. I'm not down to spend much on jeans for now since I'm going through sizes relatively quickly. I also have a pair of dark wash Lee skinny jeans, but I can't remember the actual style - they are pretty flattering as well - mine are 18s, but I think I could wear 16s.

Good morning everyone! Despite the fact that it's Monday, I hope everyone is up and at 'em and feeling good!

I had a fun weekend with family celebrating my grandma's 93rd birthday - which involved THREE cakes, peanut butter fudge, and ice cream. I did have a few bites here and there, which I actually think wasn't great. In the future when presented with that type of situation I'm going to put an itty-bitty piece of cake and half a piece of fudge on a plate and that's it - not a little bite from my sister's cake here and a little bite of my nieces fudge there - there's no good way to track that. Lesson learned. But I didn't dump and I didn't overindulge - but I want a better strategy.

I also took a little hike (A HIKE!) yesterday afternoon AND tried 2 new recipes. I loved, loved both. The first is a little "ice cream" treat that I doctored from a Pinterest pin: 1.5 cups lite Cool Whip, 1 cup FF vanilla greek yogurt, .5 cup purred strawberries - mix it all together and freeze. I divided mine into 10 servings of about 2oz each before freezing - so the stats are 43 calories a serving, not too bad. The second recipe was Lasagna cups made with wonton wrappers. Delicious! I used FF ricotta, what I had, and a "lite" tomato sauce instead of diced tomatoes and ended up with 148 calories and 15 grams of protein.

Time since surgery: 15 weeks

B: Light and Fit greek yogurt with 2T wheat germ

S: Nectar protein shake, coffee with cream

L: Quest bar and 10 almonds

S before Y: Babybel Lite, .5oz Fiber Gourmet cheese crackers

D: Lasagna Cup, steamed carrots

S: Strawberry "ice cream"

TOTALS: Calories 778, Protein 89, Carbs 63 (a little high with that Quest bar in there!), Fat 24

V: started

W: about to make a dent

E: running like a mad woman at work, Aqua Jog tonight at the Y

Hope everyone has a great day. Today is Day 1 of Science in the Summer, our 4 day science camp, so I won't be around much until later in the day.

Hey Anny!  Thanks for the advice re: Old Navy.  I swear, they give me diaper butt.  They fit in the morning but by late day it looks like I have a load in my pants!!!  Does that not happen to you?  I did just buy 8 (no joke) tank tops there for $4 each on Friday.  I do love a lot of their stuff...but I haven't loved the jeans.  I haven't tried the boyfriend variety though!

Lasagna cups sound intriguing.  I have found some wonton wrappers but they are super high in carbs.  Hmmm.  I will have to consider this recipe.  I am hoping to make shrimp cakes this week and will post the recipe if/when I do :)

Yeahhhh I have made the mistake of buying some Quest bars.  They taste really really really good.  I am trying to make myself eat them in an emergency only, or when traveling.  We will see how long I can hold out!

I hear you on the diaper butt - but I think since the boyfriend cut is slouchy to begin with I don't have this problem with them. I also seem to be keeping my booty, for now, but man, the girls are getting smaller - I need to go bra shopping, but am trying to hold out as long as possible!

OMG Anny someone once described their girls as empty tube socks.  I laughed.  I am not laughing anymore!  Go get a bra!  It's worth it!!!  I got a bra fitting at Nordstrom's and I was in the WRONG bra and they sold me two bras that did cost $130 in total (brand Chantalle) but man I look amazing.  Seriously my whole body looks better when the girls are right!

I can't do crackers...I have had one Quest bar and I have some in case of emergency but I am not going to incorporate them into my daily routine - they are TASTY!

I've only had 2 Quest bars in my 22 months post op. They taste way too good and remind me of candy bars which were my downfall before surgery. My whole grain Rackers are carbs but don't make me crave other carbs. I'm afraid though that Quest bars would make me want more Quest bars!
