I am 9+ yrs out and dump if I eat too much sugar.  I get sick, queasy, heart races, pure misery.  Thankfully.  It keeps me at goal and doesn't allow me to eat crap.

I have dumped a few times and believe me once you have you don't ever want it again. I think every person is different and what bothers some people, may not bother others.

Its mostly trial and error. I try to be very careful so I don't dump and so that keeps me in check. I do find if I eat a bit of protein before or with something that is more sugary that might help.

If you do have something sugery just have a little. Overall I try to avoid and sweets but sometimes I have a bit of ice cream to concur my cravings and that seems to be fine.

One thing that bothers me is a sweet wine. I don't drink very much alcohol but sometimes its nice when we go out for a nice meal. I can tolerate a dry wine but a sweet wine will

make me dump. I try to not drink very much either....just 2 or 3 oz right before I eat. Eating will combat any dumping that may occur.

Anyways you need to find what works for you but you are unsure...just have a small bit and really that all people need anyways.
