The first surgeon I went to told me that I would have to get the revision in two separate surgeries. But I saw two others after him and they both did it in one. I ended up going with a surgeon who does it in one procedure.

Before, hunger was a ravenous lion that could not be satiated.  Now, sometimes I get hungry and sometimes I dont.  Cues like feeling headache-y and grouchy clue me in to look at the time and whether it is time for a meal.

Other times, I really battle with head hunger. So much so that I sew, paint may nails, or stick some goo on my face so I cant go into the kitchen to eat food (cuz it will crack the face mask or ruin the manicure).

This is very close to my experience as well, minus the nail painting.  ;)

I do not get hungry, but my surgeon severed my vagus nerve.  Talk to your surgeon about whether he will do that.  I have never gotten hungry since my surgery.  Some people have an intact vagus nerve and have no hunger after RNY.

I am just shy of 6 months out from surgery. i have days where i get hungry, and days where i'm not. you know when i get hungry the most? the week before "aunt flo" shows her dumb face into town.  after that week is over, i go back to not being hungry. but you are SUPPOSED to eat 6 small meals a day. if you go all day without eating, 1. you aren't getting your 60-80grams of protein per day, 2. you are setting yourself up for failure, 3. you may get so hungry by the time you do eat you may eat so fast it will make you sick, 4. by the time you do eat, you may just choose the wrong thing to put into your mouth. just be smart about it, if you are unsure, ASK.

Thank You for the info. I will be glad to not feel hungry as much as I do now but I am planning on following my doctors rules on how and when I should eat, hunger or no hunger. thanks
