What products did you use for loose skin?

I've been looking at Clarins Extra-Firming Body Lotion and Nourish Skin Tight Body Firming Lotion pre-op to see if I can prepare for loose skin. What are you using?

A good plastic surgeon!   Put all the money you are considering spending on these creams into a jar marked "plastic surgery fund" because NOTHING will help with loose skin!

Ditto what Kim said.  When you gain weight, you grow skin to cover the "extra size" from being obese.  You can't un-grow skin.  It has to be surgically removed.  Save your money for plastic surgery and don't waste it on gimmicky creams that don't work.

None.  There aren't any lotions or creams that can ungrow skin that we've grown.

Those products are for people that are a normal weight and was a slight, temporary improvement in tightness if they're going to the beach or something like that. They don't work on actually eliminating loose skin. Nothing but surgery will do that. If you want to try something topical to keep things a little tighter this I would skip the expensive stuffs and grab some preparation H or make you own using caffeine as the main ingredient.

My friend bought me this Overpriced Sephora L'Occitane firming cream to help with loose skin.  Bless her little heart.  She's never been more than a size 4 and has no idea that my loose skin weighs more than her lower body.  ANYHOO, it smells really good and does seem to give me the illusion that my skin is slightly smoother.  I plan to use the jar to put money in for surgery when it's empty.

Sad but true... potions and lotions are usually a waste... well you'll have soft, nice smelling skin ;) but if you have 100+ pounds to lose yeah save your pennies for plastics.

Listen to everyone on here - those lotions do nothing but give you smoother skin.  I do dry skin brushing for health reasons, get massages and use lotions...but it just keeps the skin I have feeling nice.  It doesn't help it "snap back".

Plastics are in my future!

My (wacky, annoying, well meaning) step-mother sells Nerium, which is this "miracle" lotion that is sold via a multi level marketing scheme.  She posts before and after pictures like EVERY DAY on facebook of people who supposedly lost 100lbs with wls who used Nerium and now look so much better.  Over many years I have hammered out my boundaries with her but she has still slipped in a few "Would you want to try a month for free to see if it tightens up your thighs?"  Let's be clear, I lost 9inches off each thigh.  No chance.  I have politely declined each time.  This post really helps me.  I am about to go on a one week vacation with her, to the beach.  Lovely.  I have decided that if she brings it up I am going to say, "Oh thank you, but I really like my loose skin, I think it tells a beautiful story"
