Constant dull ache/tightness in abdominal area

I have constant pain/tightness in my abdomen. It keeps me from eating or drinking most of the time because I just don't feel so good. If I do eat or drink something, it helps if I press down just below my sternum which helps to eleviate some of the pain. 

I find that ices are the easiest thing for me to get down. It quenches thirst and the cold feels good. 

Anyone else?

How far out are you from surgery? If you are having trouble with liquids and everything you should call your surgeon. You might have a stricture.
