What's on your menu today, RNYers? Tuesday!
Good morning, everyone! Anny is at the shore this week and so whoever is up earliest will start the post. I guess today it's me! I am working from Detroit (my hometown) this week, staying with friends...and today my friend and I got up and walked her dog for 40 minutes and so I am halfway through my steps of the day. I feel good about that! Hopefully everyone is enjoying summer as it winds down.
My menu isn't going to be as good this week as when I am home, but I am ok with that. I am still exercising every day while I am here, and I am staying around 1,000-1,200 calories so it's not like I am going to gain. I just don't know if I will lose. I am still doing a protein shake in the morning but I am having a few more carbs than I normally allow myself.
B: Chike!
S: 3 oz raspberries
L: Chicken and cheese roll up
D: Leftover nachos - chicken, cheese, a few chips, and jalapeños!
My totals will be around 1,100 calories, 90 g of protein, 75 g carbs
E: 2 miles in, need to get out later today as well
V: Just took 'em!
What's on your menu today? And has anyone ever eaten at Joe's Crab Shack? I am supposed to have dinner there later this week and I love crabs and lobster but wonder if anyone has any WLS-friendly recommendations off of their menu? Thanks! Em
Good morning Em! I posted this above toobas apparently I didn't refresh the site and didn't see your post. So no I am not very tech savvy. That's why I journal on paper and not online! The heat here is moving in which is a shame as temps have been so mild this summer. Lily and I already have 3.76 miles in and will bike for 20 minutes after I finish my yummy cup of pumpkin spice coffee. I stayed up a bit too late last nigh****ching news reports from the rioting going on in Ferguson Missouri which is about an hour away from me. Post op almost 24 months and weight at 120.4 today. On track with fluids and water too. B 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and half a banana with peanut butter L 31/2 oz leftover rib eye steak and 1/2 c green beans S whole grain crackers with peanut butter D turkey meatballs with homemade pasta sauce and cheese and some green beans. I am living all the green beans and tomatoes I have gotten from the garden this summer. And gardening is so much easier this year too! Have a great day everyone!
Hi Karen! I love how you get so many veggies from your garden! Living in DC I don't have a ton of green space nearby but we do have farmer's markets. Cooking for one, I end up throwing away SO much food, sadly, so I can't buy a ton of veggies. Sorry the heat and humidity is roaring it's ugly head. It's warm and humid today in Detroit but NOTHING like the inferno that is DC lol. I am enjoying the break.
I haven't posted in while.
B- same as every day dannon light and fit greek yogurt wit 3 coops of unflavored protein powder 30g
L- Genghis Grill Left overs 12 g
D- No clue have a football booster club meeting
S- quest bar or Syntax Nectar - Strawberry Kiwi, 1 scoop 24 g
This puts me at 66g my doc wants me at 90g.... II have really been struggling with that I get to 72 most days and I am done.
Need to make more time for the gym haven't been in 2 months YUCK!!! Crazy schedule with work and kids. I plan on starting back in the next week.
I hope everyone is having an amazing day!
Regina, welcome back! It has been a while! I cannot believe you can eat 3 scoops of protein powder - what brand do you use?? I feel like it would turn my yogurt into a paste ha ha. I bought some Light and Fit yogurts here in Detroit where the flavors are different, and I had a caramel machiato yesterday which was DELICIOUS. I also am trying strawberry banana and also raspberry chocolate. We don't have those at my grocery store :(
I can usually get 90 g of protein in a day but it requires a Chike shake for breakfast and then meat for both of my other meals, and a greek yogurt snack. Your protein numbers look great so far - if you have shrimp or fish or chicken or turkey for dinner and get another 25 g of protein, you will be right on plan with your doc's orders :) My NUT says 60 g or MORE, and I seem to do better with more (keeps me fuller, I eat less carbs, body is nourished...the benefits go on and on). I couldn't do it without one shake a day though, that's for sure. Mostly because my pouch is picky in the morning, so I can't eat food right away.
Have an amazing day too, and happy you will make time for yourself for the gym next week. I know how work and family can interfere in what we do for US so it's good you are going to prioritize yourself :)
I had the Caramel macchiato for breakfast today! Try the key lime and strawberry Cheese Light & fit! AMAZING!!! I add Nestle Beneprotien to it. I get it a Wal-Mart it is only $8 a can.
I am still only eating about 2oz of meat at meal. I am ubber full at that point. I would be up a creek if I didn't have protein drinks or bars. Last appointment I was told that I am loosing to much muscle mass so that is why the want me at 90 min.... I REALLY need to get back to the gym!
Good luck at Joes Tonight! Sounds YUMMY
Wow 6 months out and only 2 Oz per meal?! I kind of feel jealous lol. I mean you don't want to lose too much muscle but I certainly have more room than 2 Oz! I guess you should enjoy that while it lasts! But yeah maybe add another shake before bed. Also does your NUT approve of the Nestle protein powder? I haven't found any that follow my NUTs guidelines that cost less than $20+ so I wonder if maybe you don't absorb as much protein? Just food for thought! Your menu is well planned and you're eating what you're supposed to so you're doing awesome :)
Yes my Nut is the one that recommended it... it is a whey Isolate. I find it near the Ensure if you read the container it is used for people on feeding tubes (yuck) I just have to stir it in slowly so it isn't a lumpy mess LOL
You are Looking Awesome!!! Keep it up!!
