What's on your menu today, RNYers? Monday!
Hi OH friends,
I am up and at 'em early today and Anny is on holiday at the beach so I will do today's post. I slept like hell last night - maybe some anxiety about going to Las Vegas this week for work? The anxiety is centered around a. I have such a limited wardrobe and bought new suits for this conference but feel nervous about not having choices and b. I am meeting my new coworkers for the first time since I am only 8 weeks into my new job and work from home and c. (And this is the main one) I just spent 4 days at the beach with my family where I stayed on plan and avoided all the tempting food (and I won't torture you with a long list about warm donuts, chips and dip, Heath bar ice cream lol) but my calories were high each day and today I am up 1.8 lbs so I am loathe to travel again with social events every night. Ok, complaining over :)
On a positive note I had a huge NSV yesterday. I had a connecting flight through Charlotte and we arrived late and I was on standby for a 7:40 pm flight instead of one at 10:15 pm. I literally ran/power-walked a mile to the gate and made it on the earlier flight (just barely). I had a middle seat which was no problem at all. 9 months ago I would have never made it to the gate in time and if they had offered me a middle seat I would have just waited for the flight three hours later. I felt so good!
Time since surgery: almost 9 months
b: Chike mocha shake (not as good as plain Chike, IMO)
l: half a flatout light wrap with 1 tbsp pesto and Italian cheese and turkey pepperoni for a flatbread pizza
s: trader joes chili like chicken burger before I go to the airport
d and s2: I'm prepared for a long haul to Vegas. I am packing a light and fit yogurt, chia seeds and almonds to put in it, 2 wedges of laughing cow light, and wheat thinnable crackers from netrition.com. I will also have a quest bar on hand if needed.
E: goal is 1 hour on arc trainer, 20 minutes treadmill, 25 minutes personal training.
Totals will be just over 1,000 calories, 85 G protein and 70 g carbs
Have an awesome day, everyone!
Good Morning! Emily you always do great when you are on one of trips and I am sure Vegas will be the same. You will do great! I finally joined a health club this weekend. I am looking forward to some of the group classes. I will be starting with Aqua fit and a body plus (strength training) class for now. I will continue to run every other day and go to the health club on the opposite days. I hope this will help in jump starting the long stall I have been on. I was a bit disappointed that their personal training options were so expensive. You had to hire someone for a min. of 6 months. That made it out of reach for me so I guess I will be figuring things out on my own.
B: Premier Protein Shake, tea
L: Green chili and turkey cheese puff
S: Greek Yogurt 100 cal. strawberry banana
D: Bone in Pork Loin Chop (Schwann's), green beans
S: Popcornopolis Nearly Naked Popcorn, 4 cups, 130 cal.
Totals: 736 Calories (hopefully I won't add any more snacks), 91 protein, 47 carbs
Have a great Monday everyone.
Wow, Patty - your calories to protein/carbs ratio is really awesome! That's great that you found a gym - I know you said before that it's quite a drive so I am impressed you are going after it. Anny loves Aqua gym and body pump. I bet you will see some differences in your body and stamina once you do the classes. That sucks that they make you sign up for a six month training session. I bet that's super expensive :(
Thanks for your vote of confidence...dinners in Vegas for work are always lengthy affairs with tons of booze and food so I just need to keep my eye on the prize :) I know I can do it (not eat bread, not eat dessert, etc.) but my calories tend to be higher.
I am going to have to keep my eyes open for Popcornopolis popcorn!
Good morning all, we're up an at 'em early here since I'm on vacation with a 3 year old, a 9 month old, and an aunt who likes to go to the beach to watch the sun rise. We're on *****oteague Island on the DelMarVa peninsula in a beautiful house right on the Channel. There's a playground at the end of our driveway which is great for the Goose, we've already been there this morning - in our jammies! The weather forecast for the day looks a little bleak, but it's holding out for now so I'm going to go out for a quick walk as soon as I'm done eating breakfast.
I'm starting the week with confidence that I can stay on plan, but I know I'm going to have to be careful about grazing. I had planned that we would put all the snack foods away in a cupboard so they would be out of sight for me, but it turns out there is not a single empty cupboard, so they're all out on one of the tables in the kitchen so totally in my face. As always, I'm planning my menu in advance with a little wiggle room - it's just a matter of sticking to it (as always).
Yesterday I upped my calories to 1,000 - which I'm planning to keep post-vacation as well. We'll see how it goes!
Time since surgery: 5 months, 2 weeks
B: Loaded Greek Yogurt and a Banana Oatmeal mini muffin (I made them, they are made with no flour and greek yogurt, a vacation "treat")

D: Wonton Lasagna while the others are eating baked Ziti
S: Cool Whip FroYo and SkinnyPop
TOTALS: Calories 964, Protein 83, Carbs TOO HIGH, Fat 40

Em I am sure you will do just fine in Vegas. You have got this for sure! I laughed,Anny, when I pictured you and the Goose at the playground in PJs! Thanks for the chuckles! Beautiful weather here in Illinois with a high near 80 today. Lily and I have our 3.75 mile walk in already and when I finish my yummy cup of pumpkin spice coffee I will do level 2 of 30 day shred. I just can't wait to get my butt kicked! Post op 24.5 months and weight today at 120.4. On track with vitamins and fluids so far today. Here's the eats: B 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and half a banana with peanut butter L 1/2 c chicken salad and 1/2 c green beans S whole grain crackers with peanut butter D 31/2 oz tilapia and 1/2 c broccoli S Greek yogurt with nuts. Have a great Monday everyone!
Good morning everyone!
Back to work – uggghhh! I have a donation truck coming tomorrow for a pick-up. I have 7 bags of clothes, shoes & coats to donate. I did a 15 bag donation back in July so this should be last of the “big” purge of my old stuff. I am single and previously had my stuff spread out between all of the closets in the house but now I’m down to just the one in my bedroom and it feels pretty good to be uncluttered. I have so much room now that I’m hanging up my work-out clothes. They are proudly on display, front and center, every time I enter my closet!
Here’s to hoping everyone enjoys their day! Danielle
B – Black bean burger
S – ½ cup blueberries
L – 6 grilled shrimp w/roasted veggies & a small peach
S – Premier protein shake
D – 2.5 oz sirloin steak w/ some kind of veg TBD
W/V – Have started and expect them to be on track today – I do really well at work and have been getting pretty good on the weekends!
Totals – 883 calories, 81g protein, 53g carbs, 31g fat (#’s will adjust a bit when I decide what I’m having with my steak for dinner)
Good Morning Everyone,
As always it sounds like everyone is planning for the challenges of the upcoming week, and as always I am impressed. I went to my 2 hour workout on Friday and it kicked my butt, but it also felt amazing. I'm planning on doing the same thing tonight and then again on wed. I have a wedding the second weekend in Oct. that I want to look really good for (also there's this great dress I want to wear), so it's helping to motivate me to up my workout game. Still, I find food to be the hardest part. I'm really good during the week, but weekend eating and temptations are always there. I really need to tighten up my weekend menu's in order to stay on track better!
Time since surgery: 7.5 months
B - Light & Fit Greek Yogurt (Carmel Macchiato, it's really good), TJ light string cheese
L - TJ Just chicken & a plum
S - Premier Protein & string cheese
D - A new "recipe" I made this weekend (Chicken broccoli slaw mix up): Organic broccoli slaw from TJ's, Just chicken, and 1 creamy spinach artichoke dip (you get this in the frozen section), mix it all up (I put 4 oz of chicken and 2 cups of broccoli slaw and it was 3 servings for me). It's so filling and I thought very tasty. The artichoke dip made it feel kind of decadent.
Totals: Cals 809 (It seems like I don't lose much over 850, so I'm going to drop my calories for a few weeks and see how I feel); Carbs - 40; Protein - 98
V/W - On track
E - 1 hour of pilates followed by 1 hr of spinning

Good afternoon! I purged my closet this weekend as well. It felt good to get rid of so much stuff that I will never wear again. A friend of mine brought me a ton of clothes that she no longer wears in a large variety of sizes from 14 down to 8. So I am slowly making my way through all of her stuff and finding space for stuff that does not fit now but will fit as I inch my way towards goal!
