Plavix or Aggrenox after rny?

Before rny I was on Aggrenox which is like an aspirin only a lot more effective for stroke & heart attacks.  I have had a tia (at least 3) and a mild heart attack.  I also have a very strong family history of heart disease & stroke.  The surgeon didn't mention before surgery that I couldn't be on them, just at discharge he handed me a list of meds that I can take and not take.  I saw my primary care doctor yesterday and she said I have to be on it.  I do have a call into the surgeons office, just wondering if anyone else has had this come up.
