Remembering Vitamins ???
I was doing well with vitamins for the first year... but since I started back to school in September, I have gone completely downhill with them :( I know once I get back into a routine with them, it'll be like second nature again.... but until then, does anyone have any tricks they used for remembering to take them ??? Thanks !!

Set an alarm. Put them somewhere you'll see them - like with your school stuff.
How do you remember to do other things? Think about that and try the same techniques, whatever they are, for your vitamins.

I take my multi, D3, and other meds when I eat breakfast. I use the Bariatric Advantage caramel calcium chews so I put 4 of those in my purse and eat them randomly during the day at work (spaced out a couple of hours). At night I take my evening meds, my iron, another multi (I use Celebrate multis which do not have calcium) and I go to bed.
So I have found that using the timer function on my phone works better than static alarms because my schedule always varies and I take my first dose at different times (usually between 6:30am and 10:00am).
I always remember my first dose of vits becuase I take them with my morning coffee. I don't allow myself to drink the first sip in the morning until I have my vits organized for the day. I LOVE my morning coffee so this is a pretty good motivator. After I take the first dose, I set the timer on my phone to go off in three hours. Take the next dose, then set the timer for three more hours. Repeat until all doses are taken.
I don't "allow" myself to eat until I have taken them (I take iron right before I go to bed without food, but it has become routine). I love to eat so this works for me.

I have 2 "seven day" containers Sunday - Saturday. I keep one in the bathroom and take vitamins & supplements while getting ready in the morning. I keep the other container by my chair and take vitamins and supplements right before I go to bed. This system works for me, because I always get ready in the morning and go to bed at night.
Concerning Calcium which RNY patients need 2000mg daily taken in doses of not more than 500mg per dose and at least 2 hours apart ( per ASMBS) - I use Bariatric Advantage chews and have some at my desk, purse, kitchen, etc. so I can take during the day.
Best wishes, Penny
