I am about to begin preparing for my surgery - what do i need?

My revision to RNY is coming up o 11/20 and I will be starting my liquid diet in just a couple days. I think it's about time for me to go shopping and take care of things that need to be done before surgery. Does anyone have any good advice for me in regards to shopping for pre-op and post-op food items? Also, any other advice on things to do now to make this go as smoothly as possible?

Clean your kitchen closets and cabinets of anything that you will not be able to eat. Buy measuring cups a scale for measuring food. I made sure my house was all caught up on heavy cleaning so I wouldn't have to worry about it. 

Try samples of protein powders.Don't buy the huge containers. I think a lot of us have at least a tub or two of stuff we don't like anymore.

I guess you should look at your doctors plan to see what is on it so you know what to buy.

Cleaning out any food that I wont eat is a great idea.  Measuring cups and a food scale I have.  Yes, I will make sure cleaning and laundry is all done. Thanks for the advice on the protein powders. I remember hating every one I tried last time. Which one do YOU like?

I like the Syntrax Necter the coffee flavor one and the vanilla one also.For already made one I like the premier protein from Costco.

I,too, wanted to make sure I came one to a clean house.  I made sure I had lots of flavored waters, broth, sf pops. Mostly I just do the water any way. My sweet tooth has not changed as sf yet and I like the sugar free pre made muscle milk. I just need 2 a day and actually like the choc and vanilla. I got the GNC whey isolate bc I don't have too many options.
