Always cold
You know when I was at my support group in September someone asked this question and they said you can be cold for up to 2 years after surgery! My friend and I just looked at each other and said if we are cold now, in September how will we make it this summer..lol. But I can not remember why this was..probably due to the loss of fat. I can't go to any more support groups til March as I am taking a class on mon and tues nights and it meets on Monday nights. I so miss it, but don't want to miss my class either. They do have one on Friday mornings, but I work.
i know last year I was having hot flashes..they are very far and few now.
Since WLS, feeling cold has subsided but not gone away. This winter, I keep a hair dryer plugged in next to the bed, a heating pad next to the recliner, microwave all-cotton socks a few seconds before putting them on, and wrap my hands around a thick mug of boiled water. But the best tip of all is to KEEP MOVING! If I vacuum, sweep, dust, mop, change linens, etc. I warm up quickly and stay that way for a long time.
I am always cold! I'm almost 2 years out. I used to live in flip flops, but I always make sure to have closed toed shoes now, I hate having cold feet. I visited NY last December and was so cold that I was in pain. No one else in my group was really all that cold. In the summer, I can also get very hot, especially in the car. My body does seem to have trouble regulating temperature now. Thank goodness I live in Florida!
