I have my follow up app with Dr. Pohl on the 24th so i just got my labs drawn this week along with some extras from my PCP. I was just able to get my results online and googled a bit because i had quite a few high and low flags.  I think im anemic and have some elevated cholesterol. For those of you who understand this stuff....HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, FE were all low.  RDW, TRIG, and VLDL were all high.

Is this common/expected? or should i be concerned.... even when I was MO i did not have high cholesterol. I have been anemic before and this was right after i had my period so maybe that could be why?

Why do you think you are anemic?  What test results did you see online?  What were your cholesterol levels?

She thinks she's anemic because her hematocrit and iron levels were low.

Yes, my iron was low (21) and when I Google low hct, mcv etc they all said it could be due to anemia.

My triglycerides were 164 lab reference said under 150 would be in the normal range.

You're not getting enough iron.  What was your iron level (FE?)?  What was your ferritin?  How much iron and what kind have you been taking?

While iron deficiency is not uncommon after RNY, that doesn't mean it's expected or that it's healthy.

My FE was 21 the lab reference says that 50-170 is normal.

I take optisource and a vit b complex. I don't take any additional iron pills.

Then you're getting less than the recommended amount of iron.  The ASMBS recommends 54 to 63 mg a day for menstruating women and 36 mg a day for everyone else.
