Pre-op Liquid Diet and feeling terrible
I have been on liquids now for about 5 days, and I feel just awful. I had headaches for awhile but now they are mostly gone. The problem is that I have been VERY nauseous almost all the time. Also my stomach hurts all over (along with bathroom troubles too) Has anyone felt like this just from being on a liquid diet? I am wondering if something else might actually be wrong with me. I had pancreatitis before and I am scared that it could have come back at the same time as my liquid diet. I am hoping its just my body trying to adjust to the lack of solid food. Does anyone have any experiences like this?
If you continue to feel awful I would call the surgeon's office tomorrow. I found after surgery chewing on peppermint tic tacs very helpful for nausea. I would chew them and then just let them melt in my mouth. They are less than 2 calories each, so I don't think they have a big effect on your system. Make sure you are drinking enough liquids too.

I had headaches the first 4 days of my liquid diet and I was told it was probably from carb/sugar withdrawl, by day 5 the headache was gone. I also had the stomach hurting and diahrea(spell), I called my Dr and he thought I might have a milk intolerance, so I mixed my shakes with Almond milk light or water and that solved my problem. I suggest you call your Dr he deals with this situation all the time and could help you out. Good luck
The bathroom issues may be from too much lactose, if you're using protein shakes made with milk. Try using almond or soy milk instead. and yeah, I'd call your doctor's office to be safe.
