I'm new here and wanted to share that I'm pre-op and was told that I could have the RNY towrds the end of February.  I'm excited and anxious and ready to start my new journey.  I'm 5'8", my starting was 290 and am currently 274, I'm at goal weight for surgery.  I think I've done everything that I need to do and just waiting patiently.

Thank you!

I've been reading about all the positive changes that people have made for themselves and have seen people that are doing great.  I'm ready to make positive changes too.  My challenge will be giving up coffee, I haven't tried that yet as I know its going to be difficult.

Trust me when I say  your tastebuds will change after surgery.  I love love love coffee.  It is my favorite beverage.  I have a keruig and I cant drink a lick of coffee after surgery.  It tastes absolutely nasty to me.  Even the smell of coffee makes me nauseous.  I know that sounds weird now.  But don't be surprised if you don't even like it after surgery.

You're right I can't imagine not liking the smell of it or the taste of it.  Wishful thinking on my part!  :)

That was a hard one for me too. I now drink decaf and love it. I don't feel the need to go back since I have all of the energy I need now.

I can't wait to have more energy!  I wish I would have done this a long time ago but better late than never.  :)

Thank you!  Ive been reading a lot and observing those that I know had the surgery, (I live in a small community).  I see a lot of positive changes in them and I am anxious for me to be a part of that too.  Also I'm a grandmother with permanent custody of 2 grandchildren and I need to take better care of myself so I can stick around longer for them.  :)

Congratulations!!!!.  I am 10 years out, this month, and still maintaining my original GW of 135-137lbs.

Wishing you all the best.
