Hello Everyone!

I made a mistake and kissed a snake! I am currently on Week 2 of my pre-op liquid diet. My Surgery is next Monday... I have lost 12 pounds.

I cheated yall ... OMG... I had some Chipotle!!!!! Uggh! I'm so sorry guys... It was delicious .. But I'm back to reality tomorrow ... Had my last hoorah hoorah... Is that bad???

I'm confident in my ability to stick to the task on a long term... Just felt like having a final meal...

The idea of the preop diet is not to inconvience you or test you, it is used to shrink your fatty liver and make the surgery safer for you and safer for the surgeon to perform.  The same surgeon who took you on as a patient because you agreed to follow the instructions. Many surgeons would cancel your surgery because of how easily you disregarded their instructions. Surgeons want succesfull outcomes and not irresponsible patients who run the risk of unnecessary complications.

Unless you get grip and start to take this seriously, you will become a statistic instead of a success story.

Chilipepper, it's nice to know you are the epitome of perfection and from reading your posts, have never snuck anything not allowed on the plan into your mouth.  If we could all be so perfect.  I am not taking cheating lightly, but some of your remarks are so rude they are laughable.

Nope.  I followed my doctors orders preop. You are given instructions as an adult to follow.  You are asking that surgeon to risk his career and reputation to give you a second chance at a long life.  You make a promise, you are expected to follow it.  If your doctor indicates you can have tacos at the mall or Chipolte, then that is his instructions.  Your comments are very irresponsible.

I apologize for that comment.  You are very regimented on your plan.  And that is a good thing.  Most people have a little leeway here and there.  I have been very regimented too for the most part. Never ate more calories than I should.  Maybe more carbs, but not by more than ten, and that is not often at all.

By the way..you just recently had surgery.  If you are already cheating, then you will be a statistic, not a success.  Talk to me in a few years..then we can compare notes.

Thanks for the spanking! I am fine trust me. Will power and determination is what I promote daily. I fell prey. I am not discouraged though. I will prevail throughout this process. I have prepared spiritually, physically, and emotionally for this lifestyle change. However, I had a humanistic moment.  I will survive and move forward in being the best me throughout this process as possible.

Thanks!

Making poor food choices or choices you later regret does not make you bad.  It doesn't make you a bad person.  Food choices are not moral choices, in my opinion.  While I think it is best to follow your pre op diet closely, as well as the recommended post op diet for the first few months at least, I don't think deviating from those plans makes you a bad girl.

Thank You sooo much! I honestly am wonderful at following rules. Again, I think reality struck me. I told my honey bunny, "Honey, can you believe I can't have my fav- I have to have it one more time?" After back and forth about it for 2 hours lol! I decided I would be fine. I did not eat the full portion, I had a bowl and ate half of it, because it wasn't what I expected it to be. :( It was good, but not like my Normal ... OMG my favorite.  Maybe because my mind has already prepped for what is to come. I outlined it in my journal and I am now enjoying my morning Meal Replacement Shake LOL!

Thanks for your words of encouragement!

Technically I cheated three times in my two week preop diet. I had some turkey meat on two occasions and some steak and veggies on a third. My surgery was still a success, I lost 12 pounds in two weeks preop and all is well. I wouldn't make a habit of it but sometimes we just gotta do what we gotta do to keep our sanity. Hang in there!
