Does our surgery affect pregnancy tests?
My husband and I are trying to conceive. I track my temperature every morning and it has been high for over two weeks now (generally around 97.4, has been 98.0 - 98.4) I've taken 3 pregnancy tests, and all of them have been negative, I should have started my period on the 20th of Dec. Could my surgery have an affect on the test? I am planning to schedule a blood test with my Dr when they re-open on Monday, but I was just curious if anyone else has had this problem.
Surgery delayed my period and messed it up for a few months then eventually it was back to normal. It would not effect the test but would effect your period.
What does your surgeon say about your plans to conceive? Most surgeons recommend putting off pregnancy for at least 1 year post op, or even longer. If your surgeon has given you the okay I'm not going to question him, just wondering.
I will say that losing a great deal of weight will affect your hormones. Some women find it extremely easy to conceive, even if there were issues before and others find that their periods become irregular or even stop entirely with a large weight loss.
Hormones are stored in fat so weight loss does affect things. I hope things turn out the way you want!
