Does it take time to "Kick In"?

Seriously!! I couldn't eat a cup of food NOW at almost a year out!! WHOA!

well depending on what it is you can eat more or less most likely. and depending on the size of your pouch. the issue to my mind is not the amount of food you can "fit" into the pouch, but the fact you aren't "feeling" full at times. and what are you eating at these times you don't feel full? i am near eight years removed from surgery and can eat a cup and more of many foods once chewed and down the hatch. but give me a chicken breast, "Thanksgiving meal" with all the trimmings, or ground beef patty and other more solid, dense foods....and it won't be nearly a cup of food.
imo don't be concerned with the amount you can eat, nor the nutrition of what you're eating. discover the foods you can eat the least of and be full eating. if i eat "too much" it either leaves me feeling full or comes up. but the pouch would seem to be something where a finite amount of food can fit.
imo stop "trying" to eat a cup of food, and find those foods where it "depends" and you cannot. if you still don't feel full it might be something you have to live with a bit, or maybe the food is passing through the pouch too quickly? which imo means eating foods which won't :)
Thanks for your advice. It is helpful. I am on the soft foods stage. That includes eating things like eggs, fish, cheese, beans, thinly sliced cold cuts, etc. I suppose when I eat things like, fish for example, i eat less of it. I can eat about 4 oz or so...but i think I should be full on 2 oz? maybe i'm wrong. This is all new to me. VERY different then what it was like living with the band for 7 years. I'm just learning along the way. Thanks for the advice. It has made me think a little differently!
I've easily eaten a cup of food at 4 months and now at a year. Restriction yes, but not like others describe
