What's on your menu today, RNYers? Holidays are over! Vacation pics inside :)
My son went to school in Rochester and while he was home we were just talking about the mall and it's name change and new size. I have had two plateaus on this journey and they are so frustrating. I found the dietician not helpful they are just giving you suggestions to make you feel better but don't really know. Both times my plateau broke it was because I ate something out of the ordinary. Or so it seemed. Usually higher fat too. So change it up both in what you are eating and calorie wise.

WOW thanks! I can't say I see it, but I do feel so damn good, pretty much every day :) I love feeling strong - I think that's the biggest difference. I had no access to a gym in Tunisia but three times I went running. RUNNING. I was like, who am I??? I did 2.6 miles the third time. Which makes me feel a lot better about the 5k I got roped into doing in March. A year ago I couldn't have comprehended RUNNING. :)
But thank you for your super sweet compliment! You're so sweet!

It is amazing the feeling to be able to do things.I totally was so vain and cared a lot about the way I looked. But the other night when I went out and danced the whole night it was an amazing feeling.
That feeling was the best thing ever.Being able to breath. To dance without sitting down all night. I was worried I was going to be sore but I wasn't.
I have thought about running but I think I am going to stick to walking.I am 47 and I am scared of hurting myself.
That is so exciting going on a trip and not to look forward to eating and drinking.
It is nice to see things by going and not just sitting on our asses and letting life pass us by.
I am a month short of 47 and started running by accident a month ago when I started running on my way to the grocery store and managed to get there without stopping(1mile). I was so surprised and exited I ran all the way home too. It has now become a part of my routine and I run back and forth to the gym or the store. I have managed to advance from one mile to five and really don't know my limits anymore, but plan to work on seeing how far I can go.
I would never have thought of my self as a runner two months ago but you never know unless you try. I am even thing about trying a triathlon.
Good luck
What an awesome sounding trip!!
Falafel is something I love, but it just doesn't seem to sit well in my tummy post-op, so it's one of the only things I've really had to "give up." So enjoy that falafel for me ;)

Hi Gwen! Oh no...I haven't tried it yet (I went to log it in MFP to see stats on it and it didn't come up) so I am not sure if I tolerate it either. Hmmm...not sure I want to get the foamies while on a date :) But have you been to Amsterdam Falafel (in Adams Morgan and now there is one at 14th and T)? Because that is where we will be potentially going and damnnnnnn it's tasty lol!
Happy new year!
