What is "Normal" < 1 week after Laparoscopic RYGB?

Is it "Normal"..?

1. to develop a sore throat 4d after surgery?

2. have so much bloating?

3. leak like this around my JP drain site?

4. to bruise so badly around my JP drain site?

5. to NOT have nausea?

6. to feel like I'm never going to lose weight?

7. to have so much pitting edema around my hips, thighs and blitateral legs? (no s/sx of DVT!)

8. to worry so much????

I can relate to #'s 2, 5 (thankful for) 6 (omg this was a big one) I'm a little over a month out and have lost 32lbs so I am losing and the bloating is gone. Everything is new and all the doubts will surely pass.

Sore throat could be due to being intubated during surgery.  It will heal.

Lots of IV liquids can cause edema.

You will NOT lose weight overnight.  Patience, grasshopper.
