I need to get more Protein in and know fish has a lot, so I want to try making it but don't know the best fish to try or best way to cook it  and if it needs seasoning. Can you give me any ideas?

Swai ( I think that's how you spell it ) is one of my favorites. I does NOT have a fishy taste and the way I always season it is with Tony C's Creole Seasoning. Gives it a nice Cajun kick.

You just put a little seasoning on both sides (don't over due it because too much can be a major "kick")

Spray or spread a little olive oil in a glass pan to reduce sticking

Preheat oven to 375

Cook the fish for 20-25 min

I'm a fish purist and I like it cooked as simply as possible. I grill it or a simple pan fry with a little olive oil, and seasoned with salt and pepper. My favorites are salmon, black cod, halibut and ahi.  Ahi, I generally eat raw with soy sauce and wasabi. The key is not to over cook any fish. That will make it dry and fishy tasting.

I like about all of them, I use Tilipia, cod or swai and I simple spray foil with a non-stick spray and sprinkle lemon pepper seasoning on them and wrap and bake. Or another good thing====and the hubby likes is I put them on a sprayed with non-stick foil and then I put chunky salsa on top and sliced olives and then make into a foil pack and bake them in the oven or through on the grill. I place them over rice for the hubby when done.

If you're not used to fish, another good one to try is Mahi.  It does not have a "fishy" taste at all.  It is a denser fish, so if you have problems with dense meats, be forewarned.  But it is soooo good.

I like to keep mine pretty simple also.  Grilling is best, whether on the gas grill, or the foreman grill.  For seasoning Mahi, I usually use either the Outback-Style blend I made, or I use Penzey's Northwoods Seasoning.

I agree ...simple fresh fish not overlooked is yummy....and good cold the next day.  Salmon, cod, hake, halibut, sea bass, all easy to cook and digest.  Sometimes I make a tomato sauce( like a ratatouille ) for the cod, for salmon I pantry it with a little Lemmon or plain and you can use Pap as it is an oily fish and then put it on a bed of spinach or fresh diced tomatoes.....sea bass and hake can be sprayed with Palm and stuffed with lemon and fennel or onions and wrapped in foil and in the oven it goes....

And last but not least....open that can of tuna and put it in a salad mixed with no fat Greek yogurt or on top of Veggies or in soup!

Have fun...just don't overlook!

I'm a fish and seafood freak. As far as fish goes I'll stick to lake perch, walleye & cod. I usually seasons lightly with pepper and a little season salt. I'll lightly pan fry in coconut oil or bake in the oven @ 350 for 30 minutes. Sprinkle some lemon and butter if you bake. Delish!

Thanks everyone, I really don't eat much seafood because I don't want a fishy aftertaste and sometimes fish has a strong fish smell. 'm going to try a few of your ideas here and see how it goes. Thanks everyone.
