Tips to avoid Grazing
Things are going pretty well but my losing appears to be hitting a bit of a stall. Hopefully it wont last lost. The one difficult that I am finding is that I tend to graze a bit often especially on my days off. Not that I have gained anything back but I know that the grazing is a bad habit to start especially if it lasts to the maintenance stage when my pouch will hold greater amounts.I would appreciate any constructive tips to avoid the grazing. Be Well!
My "go to" items to curb the urge to graze (which is sometimes still strong even 7.5 years post op) are liquids (plain water, flavored water, tea, etc.) and raw veggies (carrots, celery, cucumber) w/ a tiny bit of fat free ranch salad dressing.
What helps me more than that, though, is that I eat small meals 6-7 times a day, so I am already eating something healthy (and planned) about every 3 hours... So there isn't really time to graze, except between dinner and bedtime.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I don't keep food in the house that I am likely to graze on.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Planning meals helps me... if its not on the days plan it doesn't go in the mouth and if it does I know it needs to be made up for at some point.
Coffee is my go-to. It should be water. Low cal or no cal fluids.

I printed out your 50 things years ago and put it front and center on my refrigerator. It is still up there today and been very helpful throughout the years.

At 26 months out, I can tell you that it gets EXPONETIALLY harder not to graze in maintenance. I have struggles with this since the holidays, and it has led to a 4 pound gain, which will take me a couple of months to lose. Like everyone else said, track what you eat (Myfitnesspal) and planning is key. Don't bring anything into your house that is tempting. Even some stuff that is healthy can be bad if you are a grazer. For instance, Pirates Booty corn puffs are definitely not a good choice for me, because although they are low in calories and a way better choice than Cheetos, I could and would eat the entire bag. I cannot have these in my house. I just can't. Be accountable.
