**HELP!! Urgently need advice. Considering revision from VSG to RnY.
Thanks for your reply. I'm actually research weight-loss surgeries for over 10 years now and have a mind about tuna half years. I've also research the revisions, but I really wanted to hear from people who have had it so they can tell me their experience and whether or not they regret it, how much it helped them. My mistake was that I did not talk with the doctor enough before the surgery. I was led to believe that I would have more weight loss than I did, same as RNY, but it would just go slower. This is what I wanted. I could not follow specific diet plans as I was deployed and are whatever the mess hall offered but very little. Now things are different as I'm not in a combat zone. I want to lose another 70-80 lbs and do need the help. I'm definitely not plowing through it, etc. I've sone due diligence just not had exchanges with those who have had it and that's why I'm here.
Thanks for your reply. I've actually research weight-loss surgeries for over 10 years now and have a mine about two and a half years ago. Well I am really glad to hear all that. It is impossible to know unless you tell us :)
I still think that the DS sounds like the more obvious choice -but perhaps the supplements will be hard for you to maintain if you are in the military? I can only speak to my own revision and RNY experience which has been life changing. I would do it over again and again. I lost all of my excess weight with my RNY but it is work and you do have to stay focused and on plan. I wish you luck - hope you are able to find what works for you.
Hi there. I had revision from sleeve to RNY on November 10. I'm about 12 weeks out and have lost 34 lbs so far. Never got to goal with sleeve. Doctor and I felt RNY would help me more because of the early malabsorption. But I am trying hard to change my eating habits more than I did last time because obviously nothing will help if I don't do my part.
Surgery is risky but I came through fine. Two nights in the hospital. No complications. Getting ready to get my gallbladder out but that can happen with any WLS.
Weight loss feels slower but I was able to advance through the stages quicker than last time so I think that's one reason why. My surgeon wasn't as strict this time around.
Good luck with your decision! I understand not wanting the DS. Everyone asked me about that but after researching it just wasn't for me. This was a huge step for me after vsg and I don't intend on having any more surgeries! PM me if you want my email to keep in touch.
I have a good luck with my RNY but didn't know anything about a DS prior to having it done they didn't even give it as an option. I would look at that option as well since with the VSF you already have the first half of it done. You know your body best so search your heart and I know you'll make the best decision for you.
Good luck

I need advice as soon as possible please. VERY nervous about doing a revision but also do not want to regain. I have not been eating any crazy amounts, but see that I have increased..still short of 'normal' amounts, but more than I have. I am about to schedule a revision for this weekend, but for some reason feel very nervous, which I did not feel before. Any advice? Anyone go from sleeve to gastic bypass? Can you offer advice. Was it harder the second time around? I am reading there are more risks with revisions. Thanks in advance.
If you do decide to schedule a revision, I suspect it will take much longer than a weekend to complete prereqs, get approval, and make it to scheduling.

Must be, especially if insurance things are different overseas. Seems like most folks need to jump through several months' worth of hoops to get insurance approval, even for a revision.

You should get a weight loss boost of at least 20 pounds with RNY revision. In order to reach your goal and maintain you will need to cut out carbs and calories.
Even though inconvenient you need to weigh daily.
When I traveled for business I would buy scales and leave them behind. Find a way to get protein powder and use that instead of mess room eating.
