Adding carbs helped jump start loss?

I agree with most of the replies here. Some come off harsh, but whatever floats people's boats.  I agree the OP should have never eaten any sugar, but that is not why I am posting.  Chillipepper constantly bullies people on this forum, and I for one think she has a lot of rage issues.  To constantly post pictures of candy on this thread; she couldn't help herself. It really pissed me off. The majority of her posts are vicious.

Lene, you're still posting personal attacks even after you edited your post.  There's no need to make such spurious assertions.  Really.

Sorry.  But posting twenty pictures of candy bars is sane?  Look.  This is a forum for MO people.  I belong to another group on FB, Gastric Sleevers over 50. If any of us acted like that on that forum my ass would be in California right now. Because this forum is not moderated, some get out of hand. That is not what I want to do with my life.......inform a person of their mistakes with a tongue as sharp as a razor. I am not a forum nanny and neither should you be.  But some people are too much.  If the mods want to have me delete my post I will.  I am one of the most kind, sensitive people alive so I don't say things like I did lightly.  Having been bullied as a teen, I am very anti bully.  Some of the posters make, to me, kinda rude jokes, but they're not that bad. But for someone to constantly tear other posters to shreds, that is NOT what any forum is for unless one is into verbal S&M.

I can understand being against "harsh" language. But calling names yourself really isn't any better.

People who have gotten Cancer drink water and breathe air.  By your logic that means drinking water and breathing air will result in cancer.  You have no way to prove that your candybar or carb consumption resulted in the scale moving or was it just time to move.

I know it is easy to think that vets are beating on someone for "Breaking the Rules"  reality is that many of us vets have been at that point where you are and have had to make the hard decision to keep pushing forward or say to hell with it and do what feels good!  I will openly admit that at 4 years out I have eaten cookies, cake, candy, ice cream and the pleasure is temporary but the impact is long lasting.  And early out can lead to bad habits.

Others get their candy through crap filled protein bars and poor protein sources.  We all have our battles we fight and at times we just need the ass kicking which are not always fun.

You found your sweet spot which is good keep pushing forward and don't take anything as an attack but simply advice or eye openers, sometimes it is about how something is said rather than what is said.

You need to make an appointment with a psychologist specializing in eating disorders ASAP.  If you are just a few weeks out and already justifying eating candy bars you are going to fail.

I am not justifying eating a candy bar. I am trying to learn from the mistake that I made by having a bite of the candy. Thanks for telling me I going to fail because of one mistake. The support is oh so appreciated.

Search for "three week stall." Pretty much everybody has a hiccup in loss when first starting out, which ends quickly, and carbs have nothing to do with it.

Dumb luck - it's not called the three week stall for nothing.  Hey - why won't you eat Hersey's Kisses and mashed potatoes if you are already eating Three Musketeers bars this early out?

I would say upping your complex carbs is often a good thing as we get farther out - lentils though, not lollipops.  Beans, not Skittles.  I am amazed at your choices this early but everyone has to do it her own way and if this is what you think is best for you, than by all means knock yourself out -

I stuck to a plan that called for zero refined sugar and carbs and had almost no stalls to speak of so I can't say if adding crap carbs works or not - my educated guess however is no.

That's just crazy Ashley. Hershey's Kisses and mashed potatoes. Now chocolate chips IN mashed potatoes -- warmed just enough to slightly melt the chocolate bits -- mmmmmmm.
