Step back for a moment and think about what you're saying.

You're overreacting.  It could be as a result of hormone dumping.  Click on the magnifying glass and type in that phrase for clarification.

And shaming and bullying are ok? I had a young cousin that actually committed suicide so that she didn't have to deal with the bullying at school for her weight. It was people like that, who ridicule, that cause it.

Bullying is deliberate, systematic, and long term. One person being snarky on a single thread is not even remotely similar.

Suicide is no laughing matter. Don't treat it as such.

10-12 grams of carbs seems WAY to low.  My morning protein shake has 9 grams, so unless you are just eating plain meat I don't see how you could be there.

When I was losing weight I kept carbs to ~50 grams / day.  I would focus on getting them through dairy & healthy green leafy veggies.  These will help you create good long term eating behavoirs & help your body stay regular.

As you get further out you will be able to eat more.  You can use this time when your body is healing to really kick the sugar habit.  Candy and starchy carbs are really 100% empty calories and just leave you wanting more (or at least leave me).

Good Luck!

Thank you for your honest and helpful reply. Yes, I am pretty much eating just plain meat and cheese at this point. I can't add anything else for another week, as fruits or veggies aren't allowed until month two. I appreciate your sharing that having about 50 carbs worked, this helps me a lot. I don't have a sugar problem, I was kind of testing the dumping too, want to know how my body will react. I can have one bite of something sweet and feel satisfied, not wanting more. I'm sure I will get a lot of mean messages about that too, but that is the truth. Doesn't mean that is my plan either, I just know myself.

I have several different types of protein shakes, many are too sweet. The one I use most has zero carbs, others up to only five. When I'm able to add more foods, I do plan on adding appropriate carbs from whole, healthy, natural foods. I know in the past, I didn't lose if my calories were too low, and now I can only have about half that amount, so I am just trying to find what combinations of foods and nutrients works best for me, and knowing what works for others helps me figure out what to try for myself.

I also work out. I'm not sitting around eating candy sabotaging myself like everyone seems to be vilifying me for. Thank you for a supportive response.

I am not making fun of you, but consider that in your post you state you aren't eating veggies or fruit because "they aren't allowed until month two" -- but fun sized candy bars are permitted now?

You say that "protein shakes are too sweet" -- but fun sized candy bars are not?

You are sabotaging yourself and justifying it.

I sincerely hope that you get the help that you need to be successful.  Not everyone "cheats" -- I haven't touched a candy bar in 13 months.  I haven't "tested if I dump" -- if you don't have a "sugar problem/addiction" then you need to figure out why you are eating off plan.  I doubt seriously that fun sized candy is on your plan right now.

Good luck with that.  These messages aren't "mean" they are honest.  We want you to succeed.  Do you?

Candy that dissolves won't block a stoma, but fiber from fruit and vegetables will.

I made a mistake, I was honest, I admitted it. I also noticed a change in carbs helped move the scale, after I made the mistake. A fun sized candy bar was one bite, a shake is huge, so the sweetness is a lot more difficult to tolerate. I am not justifying a sabotage. I made a mistake. Admitted it. I did it. Because of that mistake, something else happened, and that is what I was asking about. Carbs. Not simple sugars, etc. Carbs. Appropriate carbs when I am able to add them, not more candy or cake or mashed potatoes or anything that anyone keeps posting.

I am not in denial, or emotional. I asked a question about carbs. After I made a mistake, that was wrong, that I didn't hide, that I was honest about, that I have not done again, that I don't intend to do again. I made a mistake in a moment of weakness and frustration, a momentary lapse of judgement, and I am trying to make the best of it. I am trying to learn from it. And yes, I wanted to know about dumping too. The fear of dumping syndrome had me put off surgery for several years, so I wanted to know about it. Face it head on.

If I didn't want to succeed, I would have hid it and lied and acted like I was innocent. I had a freaking bite of chocolate, once. I'll go to confession and say a million Hail Marys. I just wanted advice about how many carbs works for people, because 10-12 wasn't working, and many doctors have differing plans. Pictures of candy and cake are mean and in no way shows that the person posting them wants me to succeed.
