LadyTazz: The spiralizer rocked

Hey Lady Tazz

Just dropping you a short note to say "Thanks" for the tip on the spiralizer. We just had the spiralized noodles with indian butter chicken last night and it was a huge hit with hubby and I.

I also found 66 paleo recipes which use the spiralizer.  So I look forward to spiralizing everything for the next three months (which is typically the duration in which I am fascinated with a new toy).

What vegetable did you use?  I don't know that I would like this but you never know.  Did it seem like noodles?

Yes. the zucchini seemed like egg noodles in shape.

To eat the zucchini noodles alone, you would notice that it is of the squash family. However, in a sauce with a strong flavor (liek the indian sauce) the squash becomes mutable and you dont even notice its flavor.

I have seen people spiralize cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, and cucumber.

I am going to give eggplant a whirl in the near future.  Like zucchini, egg plant is mutable.

Also, heidi, just saute the zucchini ribbions in a bit of olive oil to the point of tender crisp. Do not overcook as they will turn to mush in the dish that they are supposed to act like a "noodle" in.

I loved loved loved the zucchini.

And miraculously, the last pound disappeared!  It is like God was rewarding me for staying out of the noodles.

Glad to hear you like it.  I have managed to use zucchini and a very thing yellow squash.  Do you have any other things you've found that works?

Zucchini works good for me, though.  It is just a vehicle for the sauce anyway.

I forgot to add that I love butter chicken!  I would make it more often but it is a little too labor intensive but every once in a while I will spend $5 for a jar of it and make it that way.  Not as good as my own, though.
