What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Laura, that's awesome that you talk to people about WLS - you are such a success story which helps immensely. I didn't know anyone who had had WLS but a friend put me in touch with her friend while I was still pre-op, and this girl alleviated so many of my fears.
I just had a friend reach out on FB and ask if she can talk to me about my surgery (she is considering the sleeve) and I am absolutely excited to talk to her about it!
AV I too am feeling spring here in Illinois. I love to walk anywhere whether here at the local parks or anywhere else. I'd love to be able to run but my knee replacements won't let me. Lily and I will be heading to the park today when the fog lifts a bit. Em I am envious of your crab stuffed flounder. It stinks living in the middle of nowhere because I have to drive about 2 hours to get to Whole Foods or Trader Joes. This week has been amazing food though after Saturdays trip to Whole Foods: Mediterranean lamb burgers, fresh tuna, delicious pork steak and mahi mahi. Wish every week could be like it but the budget isn't there! Post op 30 months plus one week and weight at 118.8. On track with fluids and vitamins so far and here's the food plan: B 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and half a banana with peanut butter L 31/2 oz mahi mahi and 1/2 c Asian veggies D 31/2 oz rib eye with 1/2 c sweet potatoes S Greek yogurt with granola. Exercise today:walk 1 mile at the park, program 6 on the treadmill and time on the bike. Can't do planks yet so Jillian is still on hold til the foot is a bit more healed. Just happy to be walking the dog again. If you had told me three years ago that I would hate missing exercise I would have laughed, but it's true! Have a great Wednesday everyone!
Yeah, my Trader Joes wish list is a mile long, but my empty wallet reminds me to calm down. LOL

Good morning! Spring has sprung and it is absolutely gorgeous! I am chomping at the bit to get out on my bike and ride but it needs a tune up after being on the trainer all winter. I like to hike although I've avoided it for last few years. I also like to canoe and kayak. Does triathlon count as an outdoor sport? Cause you know I'm all about that. I have races scheduled once a month May - September. I am pumped for this season!
Yesterday I ingested far too many carbs (slapping my hand). Today will be better (well, maybe). I have dinner with a friend tonight so there is a martini in my future and I had pie for breakfast. My husband made his famous key lime pie and I couldn't resist (I am horrible). I had a very small piece.

Dude, triathlons totally count! LOL I had forgotten you were superwoman that way. And speaking of kayaks, my brother got a one for his birthday (in December) and he is chomping at the bit to get it in the water. That does not interest me in the least. I'm a strong swimmer but those little boats freak me out!

Morning All,
I like the topic today. It reminded me of what I said I was going to do when I lost enough weight to feel comfortable, (not losing my balance because my stomach was to big). I use to canoe and hike all the time in my teens thru 30's. My favorite place to go is Superior National Forest we went there 3 times for 10 days and hiked/canoed from Ely, Minnesota to the Canadian border and back, endurance/dehydrated food. Northern Michigan is also a favorite to camp, fish, hike, shoot guns, canoeing on rivers. I was also several years younger. Now not sure I want to sleep on the ground and the mosquito's. So this summer when my sister and her husband ask if I want to go kayaking or camping (in a pop up camper) I am going to try it. I am also signing up for my first 5K. I will walk it in the next couple of months, I do not like to run never have. I am also going to play with the kids in the lake this summer and play whiffle ball/soccer at family functions. I want to participate instead of watching and feeling uncomfortable with myself/weight. Even with flabby skin. I am going to have some fun this summer. Learn how to ride a bike again, I couldn't balance it last summer I couldn't get past my stomach. Will also walk outside more than ride the bike. I would also like to go horsebackriding if I get the chance. So much to ponder, but I will love the sunshine. I can't wait for the ice to melt so I can walk on the roads, I actually feel like doing this this year.
NSV for me today. My sister just called to ask me out for my birthday Saturday. We use to plan dinner or food type things, but this time we are going shopping for a new shirt or pants and maybe a coffee. She is doing WW so this will benefit both of us. It is starting to be a good day today..
