Physician/surgeon Information

I just saw this on TV:

For gathering information about doctors in your own area, just type in at the top of the page with specialty, etc., desired.

I couldn't get to this site.  But I suspect that it is one of the many websites out there that have reviews of doctors.  There are quite a few of them out there with differing degrees of information.  If you already have a doctor in mind - just google his or her name.  Most of the rating websites will pop up along with anywhere else that they are mentioned.  These can be a good source of information, however, keep in mind that most folks only post information when they have had a bad experience.  So, as long as there isn't an over abundance of negative reviews, take it with a grain of salt.

The site is actually healthgrades.com, but the above reply is correct, it's one of numerous physician review sites available. You can also check out http://www.hcahpsonline.org/ to check out the hospital scores Medicare uses to determine payments.
