Noisy belly

I had RnY on October 26th and then had another three surgeries to correct blockages. Came home from hospital on November 19th. I'm recovering slowly but surely. But I've noticed that my belly rumbles and grumbles with every sip of anything. It's really loud. I can track the progress of whatever I ingested from side to side as it travels through my bowels by the rumbles, whistles and growls. Is this normal and does it last long? It will be hard to sit in a meeting with people and have all this noise going on.

Three more surgeries?  Oh no!  What kind of blockage?  Intestinal?  Strictures?  As far as a noisy belly, yes, three years out and counting...for me, the major culprit is sugar alcohols...a lot of tummies revolt those.  To quote a poster here, "your new body is in major WTF mode," so guessing the noise will settle down as you heal and adjust.  Until then, enjoy the rapid weight loss noise--music to your ears and soul.

my bowel kept collapsing on itself and I was growing adhesions almost as my surgeon watched. she had to get a little creatI've in the final resection and added some special stuff to keep my bowel from sticking v to itself...I think of it as something like teflon. she saved my life.

You can never say 100% that it's normal, but I will echo you to a degree.  I have a noisy stomach sometimes, but not all the time.  People have looked at me before with that awkward face, like they're telling me to go eat something and be quiet.  I just smile and laugh and go on about my business.  With that being said, you can always check with your doctor.

Mine is pretty loud. I'm pretty sure it sometimes speaks latin.

You are still pretty new, especially after the additional surgeries. Keep an eye on it, but I wouldn't worry about noise.

Almost 7 months out and my sons love to tell me when they can hear my stomach 'carrying on'. They used to ask if I'm hungry, now they just know its the norm.  From day 1 I've been able feel (what I think is) the point at which my pouch empties into my intestine. Its an odd sensation to say the least.

3.5 months out and I'm not sure about how audible it is,  but I definitely get a gurgling feeling.  Kinda like if you dump a bottle out quickly,  it's that chugging and gurgling of liquids leaving my pouch. It doesn't happen all the time,  but it makes me giggle when it does. Am I weird to find it amusing?

I had my surgery the day after you (27th) and mine is quite loud at times. I just rub it and say sorry. :)

It does get annoying doesn't it? I'm pretty sure mine is just gas trying to work its way out of my system. Some days are better than others. I do think for me with all the veggies I eat I think that's part of the issue. Veggies create gas. Just a guess on my part. I'm going to get more gax-x strips though because I think those help.

I am almost 10 months post op and my stomach makes lots of loud noises.  I also just had surgery for a bowel obstruction which seems to have made it a little louder for some reason.  Its especially loud with liquids, like someone else said I can almost hear the liquids working all the way down

Surgery date: 2/4/15

Highest weight: 315. Pre-op diet weight: 289.  Surgery weight: 260.  Current weight: 138  Goal weight: 160
