I am a little over a week out... I want to cut an orange in wedges and then just suck the juice out. Do you think there is too much sugar in the orange? Or will any harm be done? didn't have prob with lemons, but I know there's more sugar in an orange.
Please help.

I know how you feel I was the same way.. I did the watermelon thing and that was the best fruit I had ever ate. I eat fruit just about every day. Not to much oranges but thats because I haven't found any that taste that good.. and go figure...I live in Fl. enjoy cyndee
It might make you dump and it might (more likely) irritate your 10-day-old pouch due to the acidic nature of citrus fruit. What does your surgeon and/or nutritionist say about it?

Since you're just a week out, you might want to check with your surgeon's office before sucking fruit. Trust me, it's tough in the beginning but it's so worth it the further you go.

Pam,
May I suggest going to the store and getting a carton of Hood Carb countdown orange juice (reduced sugars) and try some of that diluted. It is a little early to try and test your pouch with the acidity of an orange.

HOOD still makes the CarbCountdown chocolate, strawberry (i think), and the vanilla flavors. I saw them at my local grocery store Sunday. I do not know about the orange. When my brother had his surgery, he had to dilute it also.
