Last pre surgical meeting with Nutritionist

So I met with my wonderful nutritionist, Marie, this morning. She was pleased that I've been dutiful in following the pre-surgical diet. I've lost 4 lbs since Monday. I know that's probably all water but it's still something :)

She went over the post surgical diet progression which sounds similar to what most of you have done: 2 weeks of full liquids, then soft/pureed for a month, then soft foods, and so forth.

Then she went over the vitamin requirements. Holy **** that's a lot of pills!  I hope I can get them all down. We start with just the multivitamin and B12 in the first two weeks, then add calcium and vitamin D. She gave me lots of recommendations and hopefully I can find good brands at CVS or GNC/Vitamin Shoppe.

I'm allowed one meal of solid food (other than two optional snacks) per day and I've been having it at dinner but I'm going to try having it at lunch on the days I go into the office. I found myself with little patience yesterday after my sad li'l protein shake, and I have to be patient now because I'm training someone.

That's what's new with me! Surgery is April 4.

Peace,

cheremiste

I try to get the coupons out of the sunday paper and wait until CVS has BOGO, then add the coupon on top. Then I can stock up for a few months at a time.

...adding to supershopper stock-up plan:  it is crazy how many weight loss surgery support group members bring unwanted supplements and protein powders to meetings for the taking.  If it's free, it works for me.

I was allowed one meal on my pre-op diet as well. They did suggest you have it at lunch...

It sounds like you're doing really well. And it's good you won't be under anesthesia for the festivities on April 5.

What festivities? I know that April 5 is the day of First Contact (Trekkie reference) :)

That's what I meant! If you had surgery a day later, you would have missed the First Contact Day parade.
