I was researching this as it's painful and have tried everything over the counter. One article was lack of vitamin D. Any other long term vets have this?

I get this too!  I thought at first it was because of not drinking enough water or winter time or because I sleep with my mouth open and have severe dry mouth! Who knows! I do take additional Vit D3 (10,000 daily) and put vaseline on the cracks at night (not the chap stick, the real vaseline goop) and also use Biotene for dry mouth/cancer sores. That is the only thing that seems to help. Then after awhile the cracks go away get better/come back again. Mystery to me! Vitamin blood-work is all good.

Good luck with your cracked lips.

Warmly,

Jackie
